Default Weight of 06 18s vs. 06 18/19 Rays

While changing over from my 06 18s to 06 18/19 Rays, I took the time to unscientifically weigh them on my digital bathroom scale with the following results:

Front 18s: 50.9 lbs.
Front Rays: 51.1 lbs.

Rear 18s: 52.7 lbs.
Rear Rays: 57.2 lbs.

Gotta be with tires. My 18s felt like 50-ish lbs. with tires when I removed them.

the 03-05 track rays were the best
If i was a track junky though, i think i'd look for 17s for cheapness and extra sidewall and availability of race rubber.

The Tirerack listings aren't accurate all the time. My PS2s weighed more than listed by Tirerack and Michelin.

Let the air out, should be a lot lighter! Lets say you let all 35 PSI out, then you should be in the teen digit range!

It should be obvious, but the '06 rays have bigger tires which of course weigh more. The rays are a good deal lighter than the regular 18s

I was about to type something to that effect. Bigger/wider tires are heavier. Tires with smaller/stiffer sidewalls are heavier. You'd want to weight the wheels alone to get an accurate comparison.

but still you would want the overall weight of the wheel/tire combo to be less for performance acceleration purposes.
