oh what timing!! im about to make the switch to 20" stern st-1 or st-7 and i was wondering if the tein basic coilover kit will drop it too low. what is everyone running? im going with 20x8.5 +20f and 20x9.5 +25r but im thinkin about 20x10 in the rear.

when i was modding my old civic i was told not to get just springs cuz you blow the stock shocks, thats why im going with the cost-effective tein basic kit.

bump.

yah i saw that pic, car looks awful. i dont plan on tracking my car ever so i feel that filling the wheel wells is the way to go, plus i had a civic that had MAYBE 2" of ground clearance so i want a flush look w/o dropping too much.

another bump for the thread, im thinkin about doing this purchase by the beginning of next week.

Try Hotchkis. They're a conservative drop and will raise your car a bit more than your Eibachs.

p.s....make sure you get a staggered setup (8.5" or wider in the front and 9.5" or wider in the rear)!!!...too many people now are getting thin a$$ tucked wheels in the front and rear!
There’s no noticeable difference from 18” wheels to 19” or 20” wheels?!

The most significant handling difference I noticed when moving from a 2003 Enthusiast to a Performance model was the wheel/tire size (17” to 18”). From reading the above posts, I wonder if going to 19” or 20” wheels/tires setup is worth it if it is only for appearance. My plan was to throw $$ into a new wheel/tire setup for a better driving experience, but what I am reading here makes me reconsider this.

i've had 18s and 19s on my car, i feel the 19s did take a toll on acceleration, these were the 19" g35 wheels that are pretty light and is forged, i had some 22-23lb 18s on my car afterwards and it felt better, now i have the nismo wheels, forged monblock and it feels great i don't think i will every put on 19s unless i go FI

if you're worried about performance mainly DO NOT get 20's!!!!!!....the difference is not noticeable, but if you're worried about 1/4 mile times and auto cross or something, get 18's

20's are good if you want a full wheel well and don't care too much about marginal performance losses

i guessing 19's performance better than 20's...not sure how big of a difference there is...depends on the weight of the respective wheels
