18x9.5, 18x10.5
Hi everyone, this is the wheel dimension I've been looking to get for a while now. However, all the Volk Racing wheels I like only comes in 19's for 9.5 and 10.5 wide wheels.
So I'm thinking maybe getting some 18x9's and 18x10's, but since I have twin turbos I am kinda worried about not being able to fit wide enough tires for traction. I like the looks and feeling of 18's better than 19's which is why I am going with those.
Wheels I like are Volk SF-Challenge and GTS wheels.
Thanks

GT-S wheels are available early next year in 18s. Check volk's Japanese website and you'll see the fitment for them already. I would contact Rick at Status or Andy at Performance to see when the release date is.

If you want to fit wide tires in the back (295's), pay close attention to the offsets. Most of the Volks in 10.5" width have a 22mm offset which will rub like crazy in the rear with a wide tire. You need to fully roll the rear fenders if you put a 295 on a 10.5" wheel with an offset less than 30mm (assuming the car is lowered)

Here are your options for 18's I think you should go with...
VOLK RE30
18x9.5 +15 (Front; Agressive Fitment)
18x10.5 +18 (Rear; Agressive Fitment)
18x10.5 +18 (Front+Rear; Agressive Fitment)
VOLK CE28N
18x9.5 +15 (Front; Agressive Fitment)
18x9.5 +22 (Front; Moderate Fitment)
18x10.5 +18 (Rear; Agressive Fitment)
18x10.5 +18 (Front+Rear; Agressive Fitment)
VOLK TE37
18x9.5 +12 (Front; Agressive Fitment)
18x9.5 +22 (Front; Moderate Fitment)
18x10.5 +15 (Rear; Agressive Fitment)
18x10.5 +22 (Rear; Moderate Fitment)
Fitting the widest tire is not always the best route to go for traction on a FI car. You may want to think about straightening out your rear camber but this will sacrifice running an agressive fitment wheel in the rear as well as losing some handling abilities. With the agressive wheel setups, youll barely be able to fit a 285 but will require you to roll your fenders as well as running negative camber in the rear. If you run a more conservative wheel setup, you can go with a wider tire but the wheel would not look as good. There are the GT and SF wheels that VOLK offers that are available in 18's some of them even go up to a 11 inch wide rear.
If you to the wheel section of www.mynismo.com and browse through the VOLK wheel section; on the GT and SF wheels, if you click "MORE INFO", it will give you the complete sizing chart for size, offsets and wheel depth. Id suggest you look at that to give you an idea of what you are looking for. I am also working with RAYS Japan to create a 18x11.5 +29 TE37 for the rear but there is nt enough demand for it as of yet. If this wheel ends up being made, with negative camber and fender rolling, youll be able to fit a 315 over no problem.
