Default Rays18x10 w/+40 offset question..!!

Whats up everyone....

Just a quick question for all you wheel and tire guys...I have a set of wheels/tires that I just bought a month ago for another car that I would like to put on a Z car...The bolt pattern is the same for the 350z that I hope to be purchasing soon..Measurements are 18x8 w/+37 offset for the front and 18x10 with +40 offset for the rear...Tires are 245-40-18 and 275-35-18....Now I see on here that everyone likes an offset around +20 or so..(give or take a few mm), and was wondering if what I currently have may give me the "tucked" look that I am NOT after at all...The wheels are rays/ro_ja R2-5 btw and I love the look of them and will only sell them if they really look tucked on the Z.................
Any thoughts please????

Why not put them on the car and see how they look?

Use a offset calculator to compare your current wheels to the new wheels. http://www.1010tires.com/WheelOffsetCalculator.asp

As far as putting the 18x10's on the front they are not going to work. Not only will they be tucked in but they are going to hit the arm behine teh tire and wheel...

If you really wanted to you could run a 20 mm spacer up front and a 15 in the rear. This would give you a 13 mm offset up front which i think would work with the 8 inch wide wheels and you would have a 25 mm offset which i know would work for the back and look fairly decent. You are going to have a couple hundred bucks in this set upthough. plus time to install. If you aren't in love with the wheels just sell them and get new ones.

I was just going to ask about what everyone thought of spacers with this set-up... I guess longer wheel studs would be in order with 20 mm spacers?? Oh and made a correction..The front 18x8 are actually +37 not +33....

No.. But spacers is a ghetto band aid fix

Buy a correct and flush offset wheel to begin with.

People have not had good luck with spacers??What technically makes them "ghetto"...I paid alot for the wheels I have and would like to use them, but if its gonna be a safety issue with the spacers or whatever than I will not use them....Just trying to be cost affective since money doesent grow on trees and I just spent $2400 and the rims and tires I have now....thanks for the advice so far everyone!!

spacers will work just fine

however, you are going to need HUGE spacers - from afar, the car will look fine, from up close, it will look like you're running huge spacers. For some, that is not desirable, others don't care

So what did you discover when you used the calculator?
