How does the Z measure tire pressure? If i put on aftermarket rims will the tire pressure monitor still work?

There are small sensors mounted in each wheel that transmit the pressure. The signal is picked up by an antenna mounted in the A-pillar and decoded by the computer and displayed in the multi-display.

They WILL fit some aftermarket wheels in the same mounting method as the stock wheels, it just depends. Mainly, it's one piece wheels. Multi-piece wheels and others require you to use the banding method described elsewhere on this forum.

If you get them mounted in your wheels, then yes they will still work. Just make sure you keep the sensors on the same corner (i.e. FL, FR, RL, RR).
