Default Tire Size Help

hey guys,
ive been lookin up the tire sizes on the Z and i saw a lot of people going with bigger tires in the rear some were 285 compared to the original 235. i have a base 05 Z and am lookin to purchase new tires so does ne one have any suggestions? and also what is the difference between going with the 17" rim and the 18" rim, turning performance maybe? thanks

I think you are a bit confused about wheel diameter and overall tire height. If you use a 17, 18, 19 or 20 inch wheel, you still maintain the same overall tire height. A calculator will help with your selection.

Not to hijack this thread, i didnt feel like starting a new one with a semi similar question.

I am looking for new rear wider tires... but the brand I run BFG KDW2 are 45 sidewalls like stock. the front is 225 45 18... I am looking at 265 35 18s would this gap in sidewall look wierd for a rear tires.

The widest approval tire for a 8.5" is a 265 width. Your Ok!

I know the 265 will fit, but will the change in sidewall affect performance... being that my front sidewall is 45 and the rear will be 35. I could also goto a 255 45.

just checked it out, im just gonna do 255 45 18 until i get new wheels

ok next question. i found this set up at fastautos.net on a TT Z

- Tires F: Toyo T1 245/35/19
- Tires R: Toyo T1 285/35/19

he had suspension modification as well so i was wondering will these fit with the stock Z or would i have to also go through the suspension modification??
