I think it makes it look cheap it you paint the center cap. Your eyes need a focal point. Unless you were going to tape off the chrome nissan hamburger this is the best way.

I'll eventually mask off the chrome part and paint them.

I've got mine done with no problems! There's not even a hand full of people that have run into that problem. Painting is gonna chip and wear causing you to respray it every couple months. I would suggest PC to anyone. G/L lemme know how it turns out.

I'll put in my two sense, PCing looks awesome, but I'm one of the unlucky ones who's PC is falling off 
, the tire machine must of found a nic or something and each of my wheels is ruined, pulled the powdercoat off on the edges, so now I'm back to the drawing bored, I think I'm gonna restrip the wheel, polish the lip and do something with the centers, I dunno.

i've been planning to powdercoat my 06 track wheels. but after hearing that powdercoating, well the process, weakens the wheel and they either tend to crack or actually break. any insight on this. my wheels are for sale by the way. but still having second thoughts on selling them. so far ive only seen one guy who had his wheels powder coated and and actually broke. not sure how long it took for it to break but still, that would suck if it happens to my wheels. currently have time attacks. my 06 wheels are just sitting in the garage until i decide of what to do with them.

we have talked about this a number of times.
Forged parts (like any aluminum part) will overage if overexposed to high heat for a significant length of time, but if you have a powdercoater that is more professional than just some jackass with an oven, they should have no problem doing low-temp powdercoating, and it only takes about 15 minutes regardless. Powdercoating forged parts is talked about at length on metalurgy/industry forums too since this comes up often on automotive forums, with the same response. Oh, and if you ever bend a forged wheel, that's how it's going to be straightened.
Many Scooby guys have their wheels powdercoated and have no problems after hours of track use. Don't go to Joe Schmo and you'll be perfectly fine.<!-- / message --><!-- / message -->
