If I was planning a resale,I'd opt for doing a restoration&color in the OEM color.
However, some owners take cars that they THINK may be in a "collectors" category
too seriously. So its a grand touring.Or,the anniversary Z,so what. These cars are never gonna double in value. At the end on the day, they will be a 05 350Z with maybe a bit extra tacked on because its a "special".It has extra value only if the buyer thinks it
has value.Saying that,I'd go with a color that you like.Don't know what body color you have. But,I'd do a darker gray like is on the GTR.This will upgrade your Z and give it a newer look.

Does anyone know the oem paint code of the nismo 19/18 rims? I have a set of silver grand touring rays that need curb rash fixed and probably new paint while I'm at it.

It's K11. I tried to have a local shop powdercoat mine and they couldn't match the color at all even with the correct code. Gotta make sure they apply it over a bare metal or silver, if they start with a black base like most shops it comes out darker. Looks great, but doesn't match the OEM nismo body kit which is the same color.

I'm not really planning to sell, just bearing it in mind for when I do. So with that, I think I will not worry too much about getting the exact oem colour.

I'll take a look at the gtr grey, one thing I'm keeping in mind is that I don't want to go too dark, as I think it hides the shape of the wheels a lot and I'm not a fan of that. The gloss on the finish is a factor there though as I think I can go darker if I have more gloss, and still show the detail of the wheel's shape. I've actually seen a black powdercoat called pearl black that looked pretty shiny and that might even be an option!

Btw my car is magnetic black.

So I'm looking at getting the wheels powdercoated a dark bronze now. If anyone's got any bronze pics of these wheels post em up! Otherwise I guess I'll be the guinea pig...

I've tried to find that pic before I paint my GT's myself, but no luck so far.

I've got the fronts done in gold and they look great, but darker will be so much nicer. The rears are my next project, then i'll do the fronts bronze to match.

Plastidipped.
I know you all think it is rice but I didn't mind how it came out. Especially since I used a can on each wheel with thin coats so it was really clean looking, no bumps! I wanted to see how the wheels looked in flat black so plastidip was the perfect solution.

MAN you plast-dip haters are losers! no hiding it, youre putting it out right there in the open.

haha

I love how a wonder product allowing people to change the color of anything on the fly is considered bad now. I love how rice can be a color now. I love how "only teenagers would do this" is being tossed about. Don't plastidip your stock wheels you ricer, you need to powdercoat them its better!!! Keep drinkin the kool aid fellas

hahaha, jesus

Thin coats I mean, like I said I used a can on each wheel so when I removed it I was able to remove it all in one big piece for 3/4 wheels!

Goo Gone Pro eats up Plastidip pretty quick if the thin spots become problematic.

Default Powder coated rims

I bought a spare set of 17" OEMs off CL. A place in my town powder coats for $10 per rim.
I just picked em up. They turned out decent for being so cheap. I'm happy with them.

What do you guys think?

That's what I thought. They charge by the hook. $10 per hook, each hook being 2 foot apart. They will do any part. Just not any color. Its whatever color they are spraying that day.

I wouldn't trust anyone doing it for $10. You pay for what you get.

It's a manufacturing company that does it all day long. If you want something powder coated they will do it at $10 per hook. They have very limited colors but I didn't care, gloss black was what I wanted so it worked out for me.
I paid $100 for the rims so I'm not out much.
