it's a really subjective question Adrian - there are lots of great wheel companies out there, it just comes down to sticking with one of the bigger names (in terms of their motorsport use, etc) and finding a set that suits your style and budget.

BBS is not out of business, nor going out of business

In my opinion, the customize wheels are by far the best to me!

Id say:

HRE
Iforged ..i will not buy this because some of their design looks like it was copied from HRE...
BBS/Rays/Workwheels...out of all this wheels, i would say that Workwheels and Rays 3 piece wheels is by far has the best finish! For some reason, i think workwheels has the thickest clearcoat. Again its just my opinion...

i dont like the "player rims" like hre, iforged, maya, etc. From what i see in motorsports, Fikse and kinesis seem to be on alot of race cars. So is BBS, but the LM wasnt particularly light, although the new LM-R seems to be a good comeback. I think theyre hollow spoke and everything.

The ones that you like are at the top of the list. The ones that you hate are on the bottom.

Fikse hands down (there's a reason why so many big name race teams in the country use them). Rays makes some decent forged wheels, as does BBS. HRE and iForged target the aestetic market. I'm not a big fan of Enkei - albeit light, they're pretty soft wheels.
The purpose of my question was to get an idea how well made some of these wheels are. There are so many wheels available the buyer is overwhelmed. When you consider how many companies are making knock-offs it's even more complicated. I was hoping that by people posting their opinions the rest of us could get an idea of the pros & cons of the the wheels on the market.

BTW has anyone heard of Vellano?? Their wheels are EXPENSIVE ($1600 PER) but look really nice.

Vellano makes forged wheels primarily for the high end sports luxury market. Frankly I think they would be tremendously out of place on a Z

I personally love my rota's. IMO they look 10x better than most of the other more expensive rims (i.e. Volks). Its all in what YOU want, for your car. If someone else doesnt like them, **** em.

No one's mentioned CCW or Forgeline. Both make top quality wheels for track use. Not quite as much bling as the JDM brands, but very light and durable.
