Default ADR Wheels???

I was looking at getting a cheap set of rims for my Silverstone 350Z. Are these wheels any good as far as rims go? I was looking at getting the 18 inch classic on the ADR WHEELS web site they call it ADR-42 M-CLASSIC. Do you guys think style wise they will be worth it and what color choice would you put on the car.

THANX!!!!

As good as what? They are cheap wheels. You will get what you pay for.

Yeah I know they are cheap but I just got a new 911 cab for a daily driver so I wont be driving the 350 any more. I am in the process of moving it down to florida and I only get their about 10 times a year for a week end or just a few days. I really just wanted to make the car look a little nicer it looks like crap when i drive it to the golf course compared to everything else their.

By cheap do you mean they wont stand up well. My Corvette rims are already starting to have problems with the clear coat but I think it might be the salt sparay?????

I got a set of ADR for less than a year, the M-Sport Gunmetal. They are great rims, great finish too. They are just heavier than Volk or any forged rims about 4 lbs each. In fact, if you dont go on track or real racing, they are great for the look. Thats why I bought them. If you are interested to get them cheap, I can sell mine to you or I can get you some deal perhaps.

I would but it will be staying outside for the next 6 to 12 months so I am looking at just getting something that will atleast look decent. How much more do half way decent Volks/Work/HRE/IForged wheels usually cost for the Z???

I assume that you know the relative weight and performance difference between cast and forged wheels?

If you like the wheels - go for it.

I have ADR M-Classics on my car. They are good wheels for the price. They haven't cracked. They dont bend, I'd like to know what ADR wheels you have owned Nexx that would lead you to that conclusion. Oh, you haven't owned any? Then STFU. Or post pictures of those you have "seen" that have bent. If you knew what you were talking about you would know that a cast wheel is more likely to crack then bend.

Are these the best wheels? No! They're heavy. And after about a year of use, the clear coat on the lip is starting to flake. But for $500 a set, c'mon, they're a good deal. I will be switching to Rotas in the near future, for aesthetic reasons only.

Remember, they all roll! If you like the design, and a few pounds doesnt matter to you, then get them.

like i said in my post, ive seen pics and read about adr's bending more frequently then other brands of wheels. with that said, its still probably a low percentage. i did about 2 months of reading and reading before i decided on my GT7's. and yes i did consider ADR at one point but got turned off by some of the posts i ran into at this forum and others as well. you seem quite defensive telling me to stfu, no need to go that far.

I am just sick of the fanboys hating on anything that isnt Volk/Work/Insert cool guy wheel maker name here. Yes, I over reacted. But again, I'm sick of "well this guy my second cousin's babys momma knows had XXX brand of wheel and he hit this pothole the size of the Grand Canyon at 120mph and all his wheels fell off. They suck!" Everything is always "I read about, I heard about, I was told."

If you have first hand knowledge on a product, thats one thing.

Anyway, a guy in another thread posts pictures of his new Sterns, and one of the first reply is by some mental giant saying "sterns=heavy"... Are you kidding me? The weight difference is like 5lbs per; unless you are pushing the edge of performance it is absolutely negligible. Probably 90% of the people on this forum never drive competitively. And yes, I pulled that number out of my a$$.

I am not an ADR fanboy, I think they are OK wheels. They are not great. But they are decent for the money. That is all, we can all be friends again.

ADR on a 350z? Why? It makes the car look cheap. ADR = for Honda loving ******s... Save your money and do it right the first time.

I had ADRs on my old integra for a short while and the flaking on the clear coat bothered the crap out of me. They didn't bend, break, or anything but I would only use them for lower cost car because the Z deserves something better.

I mean if you think about it, you're driving a 300hp car that's sitting on rims that costs $125 a piece. Are YOU comfortable trusting your LIFE on $125 rims? If yes then go for it. Everyone is on a budget, so am I, but if I were you I'd be looking around and pay a little more for a set of good condition, low mileage, used rims instead.

I have ADRs on my Eclipse DD. Never had any problems. They're solid gunmetal type color though.

Like I said before it is just a car that will be parked outside a vacation home for friends to use when they come down. It was never my dream car and wont be either. It is a sporadic driver for going to the supermarket and the mall and something for other people to use. I just wanted to put some rims on it and maybe a wing so it didnt look so bad sitting outside.

THANX for the answers.

I have 20" ADR's... really old ones, theyve been through ungodly amounts of potholes, and they have held up fine and look great I think. If you like the wheels, then go for it.:

seems like the wrong reason why most of us bought the car. If you don't care then why even ask, just go for it
