O.K...So I have the dreaded tire feathering and I was told that my car will not pass inspection without new tires. I find a great deal on 2 used 225/45/18 Bridgestone Potenza RE040. However, I didn't notice that the tread pattern is slightly different even though they are same make and model. Most of the tread is identical with the exception of the outer edges. Will this cause me any problems or be noticeable?

That's the replacement version that Nissan/Bridgestone put on cars as part of the feathering TSB. It's basically a newer version of the RE040 tire so you won't have any problems with it.
