i have noticed many racecars use ROTAS in scca and grand am
series, must not be too bad of a wheel, i plan on buying some
flat black p45r's soon-i feel as long as you don't fly off the track
or hit a curb you should be fine to drive as hard and as fast as you
want-if you do damage one-$225 a shot is much better than $700-900
a piece for volks(i like volks but do want to spend that for my track wheels-
i have grand touring so it came with rays wheels already)

I think as long as YOU are happy...thats what matters. I bought Rotas because I cant afford volks right now. I am as happy as can be right now!!! I think they look awesome. Its the best 1600 Ive spent on my car yet.

If you can afford the volks/rays/forged wheel...go for it! They are sick and if I could have afforded them I would have gotten them. I assume that everyone on the board, if they could afford them, they would have gotten them (when I mean afford, I mean not make you go broke)

Your observations have merit - I know a lot of club racers that use Rotas since they're so much cheaper, and when you need several sets of wheels, Rotas fit more appropriately into the annual racing budget. As I mentioned before, they can destroy a pair of Rotas at the price of one Volk and still have money for some beer at the end of the day. In the end you need to weigh your priorities - do you simply want the name brand recognition, trying to fit your purchases into a budget, or are you looking purely for performance with the weight? I would wager that 95% of you are weighing heavier on the first of my aforementioned items and wouldn't be able to tell the difference between a Rota and a Nismo LMGT4 is they showed up on your doorstep one day...

Some guys on here have volks that cost 1/4 of the Z's price. For bling bling I agree all the top name companies are great but when it comes to affordable performance and decent styling, you can't go wrong with rota.

I've been considering Rota's as a choice for a replacement wheel... As for BMW/Mercedes, the people I know who track BMW's run Beyrn Meshes... BBS Knockoffs.

Rota's are moderately lightweight, and look good. I say, as long as you're not incrasing rotational mass or unsprung weight and the wheel is ceritified, you're doing OK.

That being said, I kinda want some BBS CH's. But at $480 a wheel, I dont think its worth the extra money.

its all preference it really depends on your budget

i had Rotas on my civic before my Z, never had any issues from em and only paid $200 for 16" cant complain

ive heard stories about them cracking etc on subys and stuff but ive never seen it in person i have actually beat mine to hell in the mean streets of LA and Koreatown and they were fine.... ive seen 2 sets of AXIS's crack like literally split in half so i guess it all depends on the impact what you hit etc...

if it were up to me, i would just save up for one set of nice wheels but that will take time though but also everyone is limited to their own budget, do what makes you happy

like those FAKE *** BRIDE CHAIRS on ebay, thats your life and safety that you put on the line...... thats something where you get what you pay for...not saying ROTA's because ive had no issues with them for 2 years and beat them to hell on my civic prior
