I'm working on it right now. Most of the morphing is fairly easy, but as you might guess, anything having to do with "summer rubber" gets the whole project off track a little bit.

 

I spent a few weeks on wheels that were 5lbs less than stock. Definite improvement in steering response. They were 30 offset with stock tire sizes. Immediately felt a big difference after putting them on... and felt it going back to heavy g35 18s again and I really want to get down to a 20-21ish lbs wheel again. The car was just more, errrr, nimble....

I couldnt tell any diff in acceleration tho.

I'm considering P45Rs. They would be a slight improvement over stock. I'm of the fence about the fronts. p45F isnt a look I like. and the P45R is just a tad too much for the front :/ although they rock from the side angle.

 

^^ how about the Rota Torque? They are slightly lighter than the 45, and they look nice.

 

You are correct--riding is too passive. Driving with Rotas is much better.

 

I know what you mean about feeling more nimble. I put "no season" tires on this fall, they are offset a bit more than the stock, but a whole bunch wider, and the car "feels better" around the twists. The wheels and tires are similar in weight to stock, the difference for me was tire width and rubber composition. At least that's what I tell myself when I see the stock wheels sitting in the garage with 80% of the factory rubber on them
