The "programming" part is telling the ECU to recognize the ID signal transmitted by each of the wheel sensors. There is nothing done to the pressure sensor in the wheel other than to activate it. Consult-II is Nissan's propriatary system for dealing with all aspects of the ECU and other components of the car.

I probably won't notice the beep anytime soon either. Just installed Focal components in the doors driven by an Infinity amp in the space behind the driver's seat, and contolled by a Clarion H/U. Sound is just great. Didn't do a sub... not into this, and the Focals deliver very good bass.

I'm going with the17" wheel/snow tires without TPS. I'll report back next winter on the results. But for now, I cannot wait for dry roads and running the Z like it should be driven.

Thanks for help and advice which I always appreciate.

i put my volks on about 2 months ago without the TPS's.. and as stated here, every 30-40 minutes into driving the dash light came on. no biggie.. last night, my light came on.. and now stays on.. even after i shut the car off and turn it back on.. its annoying because i have to click the buttons (each time i start the car now) on my digi gauge to change it back to MPH instead of seeing that "0 psi" screen as well as a PSI blinking all the time and the dash light on..

i reset my ECU and it's still there... any ideas why this would have happened all of the sudden? the only thing out of the norm was... me auto-xing all day, followed by about 5 runs down the 1/4 that night.. and "maybe" me being side by side (in line at the track) with other 350z's with TPS's???

Is it the icon that looks like (!) that's staying lit all the time? I would have thought that resetting the ECU would have cleared any of the warning lights. Hmmmmm....

yes (!)... it comes on when all the lights come on at start up but then stays on when the others go off..

there is a small chance that i am not resetting the ECU properly.. i have done the steps with the gas pedal and all.. and i get to the point where the CEL blinks.. but without anyway of knowing for sure that it's reset once you turn the ignition off i can't be certain..

but its just weird that it came on all of the sudden.. my car was on and off all night.. and only for about 10 minutes tops each time.. i was in line at NPR waiting to drag, and this one time i started it up it came on.. been on since.

* and the digi gauge comes on as well at start up, the (--) display.

any of you guys getting the TPS installed on 20s (Axis Mod)? I called my local nissan and they said they don't have the tools for 20s. also quoted me 140 (take off tires put on sensor put on tires reprogram sensor)

i got quoted 89 just for reprogramming... RIP OFF!

hey Dave... weird thing happened.. Ok, i had mentioned all these lights coming on out of the blue.. nothing out of the norm with maybe the exception of me being parked at the drag strip next to about 4 other Z's while waiting to drag... car's running most of the time.. well, one of the cars there had a TPS in one of the wheels that originally belonged to my car.. i sold this guy my stock tires and gave him one of my TPS's because one on his car was bad....

well, last friday i went to this guys house, pulled up and parked directly behind him.. left my car running for about 20 mins.. my lights went off... and have stayed off since..

i am thinking that it may have picked this up at the track and set off my TPS system... weird... just thought you might wanna know as you seem to know a lot about the TPS stuff...

oh and Jessica Alba FTMFW!!! haha

Jessica - ha ha

It's certainly possible that your car could have picked up the signal from the other guys' Z as he drove past you. I just can't figure out why the warning would come on and stay on "permanently". I'll have to go dig through the FSM to see if there something else that might trigger it.

Sounds like after re-awakening your TPMS Computer by recognizing the single TPMS, the warning light went on wanting to see signals from the other three (missing) TPMSs!
