Bridgestone RE050A PP
I was using the old S03 PP on my car 255/40/18 front and 275/40/18 rear, and now need to get a new set but since these are no longer available the 050s look good. I liked the S03s and according to Tire Rack tests this tire is even better.
I'm looking at the 265/35/18 F and 285/35/18 R. The diameters are 25.2" F and 26" R which keeps a nice .8" difference in size front to rear but are smaller diameters compared to OEM of 25.9" and 26.7" so the speedometer will probably be off some.

maybe hes asking what people think about the re050's?
in any case, i honestly am dissapointed in mine. they have very good grip for the street/canyon runs, but they heat up so fast on the tracvk that they start to get greasy and overheat. i liked my s03's much better.
now if you wanna get really serious, i'd look at bridgestone's re-01r's! now thats an awsome tire

The RE050A and the RE050A Pole Position are two different tires. RE050A went standard on the new MY07 Z, and was previously on just Track and Grand Touring. Most Z owners would be most familiar with RE040 as OEM.
Anywho, I'm very curious about the 050A Pole Position also and how they compare, especially in terms of noise. I've riden with some really noisy 050A non-PP's before and don't like it.

The trick with ANY tire is finding the happy medium of tire pressure, camber and toe to keep the tire happy. A good tire does not necessarily take everything thrown at it - you have to find the sweet spot of that tire, on your car, and tailor your suspension, and driving habits, around it (for track use).,
Tires are a VERY subjective thing, and moreover, what works great on one car can absolutely stink on another. I had S03's on my Z as mentioned...could not wait to get them off as I felt they offered minimally more grip than the T1S they replaced (for street use), but were so punishing to drive on, the trade off (and extra cost) were far from worth it. I tossed them in the trash with about 9000 miles on them. Replaced them with RT615's, which I absolutely LOVED on the street. Used them in all conditions, from wet to dry, and they were far quiter than the S03, infinitely more comfortable, better overal dry grip, and did not care how much camber I through at them. I've since replaced the 615's with RE050A's as I went from 18's to 19's. I've only done minimal miles on the RE050 so far but their dry level grip on the street is comparable to the 615's they replaced, the ride is a bit stiffer though thats to be expected since I'm running lower profil 19's now, and they are MUCH quieter than the 615s as well. So far, so good..I'm happy with them.
Use the reviews on Tire Rack, etc for guidance, but I would not consider them gospel by any means. Instead, stick with name brand stuff that has generally favorable reviews, but in the end, it's trial and error to find tires that you yourself will love

I was basically looking for comments from people who have this particular tire and how they like it especially fans of the S03s who have switched to it. Also any feedback on going to a slightly shorter overall diameter such as this. As I mention it will change the speedometer don't know how much. A little or a lot?
