Default Replacement tires (feathering issue)

Hey guys,
I have the same issues with my tires feathering as some of you have. I have taken the car back to Nissan dealership and they have said that I need to call Bridgestone. I called 1-800-Nissan1 to make sure that they were aware of my problem and they noted it with Consumer Affairs. I then called Bridgestone and was told to go to a Approved Bridgestone dealer - which I did on Saturday. He is replacing both front tires at no cost to me. He said that he is replacing them under the "Customer Satisfaction" clause that Bridgestone has. The tires have 5900 miles on them right now and he said that tires will be here in about 10 days (because of the holiday). I was thrilled to know that I was getting them replace at no charge - the car sounds like a friggin' dump truck. If anyone needs to replace their tires they need to tell Bridgestone that they're not satisfied with the quality of the tires. Later dayzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Well that's good and all. BUT.........! What happens when they feather again???
I am comfident this is a suspension issue and not a tire issue...

I'm starting to wonder if a lot of these "cases" are people hitting their wearbars... The last thing I want to see Z owners doing is upsetting NNA and sponsors.

The RE040s are LUCKY to get 5k miles out of the rear if you drive aggressively. Why do I have the feeling you haven't babied these tires???
See below. Front tires, inside edge. 5600 miles. No track/autocross time. If I had done so, I would have no right to complain. I don't care about the wear, it's the NOISE. It's f**king embarrassing.

BTW, rears still have 50% tread and are wearing evenly. I guess it's that LSD kicking in.

I guess Bridgestone will replace them again.

What I'm worried about is when I buy better tires and they develop the same problem. I wonder what recourse I'll have then.

Default Replacement tires

I had the car checked by the Nissan dealer and an independent store. They both said that my Caster/Camber is fine and the alignment is ok. I haven't raced/autocrossed or had this car on a track and I drive it normally. The rear tires actually show very little wear after 5900 miles. The front tires show very little wear as well, it's just that they're noisy as hell. All 4 of the tires still have a good amount of tread on them. It's when you run your hand around the tire that it feels smooth one way (forward) and then run your hand along the tire in the opposite direction (towards the rear) you feel "bumps". I asked the Bridgestone dealer what kind of mileage I could expect out of the tires and he told me 15k-18k miles if I didn't drive the car hard. I figure if they wear again in 5k miles I will probably end up replacing all 4 tires with the Michelin Pilot Sport.

Default number

So do you have a number for bridgestone.
I've got less than 3,000 on mine and will not have it on the road again till april. I don't know how many folks have this feathering problem but it sounds like a problem with the front end to me.
I haven't babied my car but haven't taken it to track day YET either.

Default Phone Number

The Bridgestone phone number that I called is in the Warranty booklet that we received with the Owners Manual. They told me that I needed to go to an Authorized Bridgestone Tire dealer and they would be the ones to replace the tires. Call 1-800-NISSAN1 and talk with Consumer Affairs, that way they will have record of your problem and hopefully if enough people call and report this, they will do something about it.
