275/40zr17 on stock rims

275/40zr17 on stock rims
i am looking to get new tires and i am wandering if 275/40r17 will fit on the stock rear rims on my z???? they are the 2003 style 17's

The rear 17" rims are 17x8. 275/40/17 will fit on those rims.

They will fit but it's not in the recommended wheel width range of 9" to 11". 245 is the widest recommended for an 8" wheel.

i once had 255/45/17 contisportcontac on stock 17 rear rims, perfect fitmen and the tread width is at least 1.5" wider than 245/45/18 potenza.
