stock g35 sizes are 245/40/19 in the rear, 275/30/19 is WAY to tall and would just look goofy while killing your acceleration at the same time

i dont get how its too tall, there both 40 sidewalls and like u said g35's come with the 40 stock so......???, most ppl run 30 or 35 sidewalls which is 1/2-1" shorter, im asking if a 40 with a 275 width will rub.

you don't understand tire sizes at all, the "40" is a percentage of the width of the tire, run it through this calculator and get back to me. You'll see why they are different

ok well being that I dont "understand" could u explain your theory, what im saying is, if i put the g35 wheels on my car. they will be 245/40 R
are you saying that this series tire is too tall for my car? if i get an aftermarket rim 9.5R they will be an inch wider than the stock G's but basically the same (slightly wider 275 9.5 10 10.5inch wheel)so how is it too tall. I DONT UNDERSTAND WAT U R SAYING. IF u have the time please explain thanks

the 40 is the percentage of the SIDEWALL
and the 275 is the width in mm.
19 is rim sz in inches
right? or do istill not understand. some please help. before i just buy the 275/35/19

Did you even try to use the calculator I posted? 245/40/19 is the stock size, and has a sidewall height of 3.9" and an overall diameter of 26.7". A 275/40/19 has a sidewall of 4.3" and an overall diameter of 27.7", a full 1" taller than stock. A 275/35/19 is a much better match to the stock size because it has a sidewall of 3.8" and a diameter of 26.6", almost exactly matching the stock size, however, is too wide of a wheel to run on the stock 8.5" wheel. In short, stick to the stock tire sizes for the OEM g35's

yea i did use the calc but this thread is about a rubbing issue which has yet to be answered , i want to thank u for all ur help but im not putting a 275 on the stock so i dont care if it is a betr match, my concern is rubbing and filling the wheel gap. and a 1 inch up in diameter closes the wheel gap even more all i care about is RUBBING DUDE. Since u have a degree in tires can u answer the thread or ..... thanks again

without knowing the offset of the wheels and your camber settings and ride height, no one will be able to tell you if you will rub or not. You may fill the gap slightly more, but you will also raise your car at the same time and make it look like a 4x4, why don't you just get 275/35/19's

im stock ht touring. well based on the calc u posted the 35 is very close to the same size as the stock G so being that i like the way it looks on a local Z i might jus go with it. I just want to get as much tire as pos, without rubbing

I currently have 295/30/19's and there is still wheel gap. Its not horrible, but it has been called a 4x4 already I don't care though. The 350z rides low enough as it is. I don't want to have my oil pan or exhaust scraping on speed bumps.

putting on a thicker tire won't get rid of wheel gap...275/40 is way too thick anyway...it would look weird
