Default How do I upgrade to 19" TE-37's?

Hello all,

I need help, I am thinking of upgrading to 19" TE-37's.
VOLK TE37 -
- Front: 19x8.5 +22
- Rear: 19x9.5 +22

Do I need to lower my car for these wheels?

If so what is involved in doing this? Where do I get the parts, and do I do this myself?

If I dont lower the car, will it look silly, or have a higher ride?

I have the touring 18" wheels on now, but was offered a good deal on the 19" wheels.

Thanks very much for the help, I am coming from many years of truck ownership so have some major homework to do!

Eric
SS, Touring, NAV, Aero, Stock as the day I got it.

you dont need to lower. this is my car. I have 245/35 and 275/35-19s on my iforged. They are the same diameter as stock and will fit those rims.

2003,

Which iforged are those? Are they the Aero? They dont seem to match the RS aero on the iforged website. Can you still lower the car if you want on those rims?

Thanks,
X

I on the other hand have Eibach's--The 19's @ stock height look ok ----I mean the damn Z handles a 19" rim pretty damn good---but The eibach's made a hell of a difference--people/friends @ work-- that don't even know **** about cars saw it after I got the Eibach's on and it makes that much of a difference!!! LOOKS KILLER w/ that little bit of a drop that the Eibachs have!
you need to get it aligned after the sprigs,.but then again you have to get it aligned after just puttin +sized rims & tires anyway!

Probably not something you can do yourself INSTALL wise--unless you have spring compressors and a Hydro Lift! other then that its easy!

Thats a good setup you have there..looks good! what about the ride over stock any difference or is it uncomfortable with the springs and 19 inchers ?

Yes they are the 2 piece aero, in brushed finish. I believe the website has them painted gunmetal, and with bolts around the circumference, but I didn't get them like that. Thats whats great about iforged, they are truly custom.

Mr Fairlady,
Your car looks very nice, but for me, just a little too low. I'm gonna wait for the nismo kit myself, but yours really is sharp!

Thanx guys!

2003Z,.man Your Iforged are the Best I've seen!!!!

but the ride quality actually got better w/ the 19's not as bouncy---and the Eibach's finished it off!!!Rides way better then stock IMO

I love the subtle drop it gave becasue w/ the 19's thats all it needed---and For $200 thats the shizzle!

One more for the hommies:

I really like the sideview! The others looked very low, but that looks great. I've been considering them, but still think its a bit much for me.

They sag after a while, I took them off because it looked tucked in the rear and in front, I actually liked how it looked stock better, I think the Nismo's lower a bit less... I'm looking for a spring that does like .3-.5 inches

hmmm,.damn,..I've had mine on for 1200-1300 miles(long trip out of town)and they setteled a bit more which is kinda what I wanted--they do drop it a tad--i mean a little more thne they say they do--but I wanted that!

I'm no where near tuckin though----you get it aligned all the way??Wehn I first put em on--before alignment they looked Real low but that little bit helped to keep em hopefully from wearing out the tires--I think it needs that drop--but ya know-to each his own!!
Everyones still looks nice though!

Thanks everyone,

I learned a lot. I think I will stick with the stock ride height for the moment and go with the 245/35 and 275/35 to stay the same size.

Now that I have seen the iforged wheels I have some thinking to do...hmmmmm....

All great cars!
Eric
