Will it work, yes. Is it the best thing for daily driving - no.

A 275 will work up front wit hthe right offset. But the minimum recomended wheel width for the 275 is a 9" wheel. I have a 275/30/19 on a 9" wheel on the front with a +22 offset.

+1 I would ask the same question. Why not install 245's. I think that provides much better handling.

I do not recommend a 275 mm tire on a 8.5 inch wheel. 245 mm yes.

i was reading 275 or 245 all around would give it a better handling characteristic than just staggered.

275 on a 9" wheel is fine up front - I have run it without issue on track and autox. 9" wheel is the absolute min for a 275 tire, which has a section of over 10".

Yeah im running 275's all round, with 9.5" rims. I initally read about it on sportcompactcarweb.com. I love how its much more neutral but easily provoked into oversteer. Anyways, different people will say different things.

Nissan designs the set-ups to invoke understeer for safety, hence the stagger. If you increase the grip up front it'll move towards more neutral or oversteer.
