Default Tires and wheel alignment question...

Hey guys. I have a pretty wide tire for the front. I have Kuhmo Ecsta MX's 275/40/18's rear and 275/35/18's front. I had one of the guys at this shop that I go to check my tires in the front and they are fading more towards the inside of the tire. I was wondering if this is a camber problem which I doubt because I didnt lower the car at all. It still has stock suspension. My idea is that it just needs a wheel alignment since I never did after I put on the new wheels and tires. Shame on me, I know. Just wondering what everyone's idea on this is. Also, I'm changing my tires out tomorrow for the front since the rears are still good as far as tread, but was wondering if the wear on the inside of tire due to camber or alignment might have thrown off the tread wear on the rear also. Any advice on this is appreciated, thanks guys.

What year is your Z? Nissan did a warranty extension for 03s and I think 04s because the cars were having irregular inside wear problems.

Edit: here's some info.

It sounds like your toe is off. Has your car ever gotten an alignment done on it?

It's possible that the alignment was already off right as it left the assembly line, thats why the first thing you should do to a new car is to get an alignment. Darren from West End told me that.

Your alignment could have been off the whole time, but it wasnt noticeable until you got wider tires.

Thanks a lot guys. I went to the shop today and notice that the tread wear was way off on the front. The back was completely fine. Wheel alignment should do it. Im trying to get an appointment asap. Thanks again guys

hey alvaro, def get the toe settings looked at... but generally everytime you switch rim/tire setups you should get an alignment after... it should be nothing a proper alignment could fix...

btw- how are the 275s all around against the Slip/VDC lights?

well we separated from PM and started a brand new shop with Vinny and the same techs that we had from the old shop. so now its VTR (Vinny Ten Racing)... you gotta come out here for the summer man... or plan a meet out there atleast a week ahead of time and post it up on tsz33 so that the crew can head out there as well =)

-back on topic: post up your alignment spec sheet when you get it done! =)

quick question for you guys. How did you come up with a toe problem instead of a camber problem? I personally would've agreed w/the OP and said camber. Just wondering.

Front camber is NOT adjustable on the 350Z and the OP stated his car isn't lowered.

^ What he said. STOCK front camber is not adjustable. A pricey front camber kit is required to adjust the camber on the front. Caster is also not adjustable on a stock front.

Here's a pic of all three on an alignment machine. Caster top, Camber middle, and Toe bottom.

Yep gotta make a meet up at vtr sometime. I'd like to meet the crew sometime also. I might head on up with my buddy Sal who got his JWT TT done up there. Im interested in going turbo, so I would like to check out the shop sometime.

back on topic: I will see if I can get a hold of the alignment spec sheet to post for you guys. Maybe I can probably check my toe out also which was suggested to me by someone on pm. I might have a little too much of it.
