tire brand and model makes a difference. [/QUOTE]

from my personal experience, i don't know why but Michelins tires usually come one size smaller, similar to Nike athletic shoes size 11 is actually a size 10 with other brands).

Advan Sports are very sticky and awesome handling. The compound tend to be softer than the treadwear rating even though it's already pretty low. After the first 50% of the tread life they tend suck really bad in wet traction.

You can go to places like Discount Tires and show them the Tire Rack prices. They will special order them for you matching TR's prices.

So between the Yoko Advan Sport and the Michelin PS2 what do you favor?

For dry traction when the tires are newer I prefer the Yokos, but the PS2 is the more complete tire. Price wise they are about the same. The PS2 is the best handling wet weather traction tire.

OK... I e-mailed TireRack about getting the PS2's in 285/30-19 and below is the e-mail I received. Looks like Michelin won't release that size till next summer. So should I stick with the 275/30 in the PS2 or other suggestion. Thanks!!!

Alternate tire size combinations we recommend for the Z are:
245/35R19 F 275/35R19 R - fits perfect - $1482.19 delivered via UPS with Road Hazard - $1333.80 without.
255/35R19 F 285/35R19 R - may require front fender lip roll to fit - $1623.02 delivered VIA FedEx 3-Day, Road Hazard is not available due to the price of the rear tire.

If I can be of any further assistance please feel free to contact me at ext.674.

Is there a big visual difference in the 285's over the 275's? Or is the difference to little to see with the naked eye?

Yes there is on a 10 or 10.5 wheel. The 285s will sit square and flush on most tire application vs. the 275s will be a bit stretched on the ends.

how a given tire looks on a wheel has nothing to do with it being a 275 or 285...it only has to do with the specific specs of that tire (ie section width)

You are right to a certain extent but 275s no matter what application are on the narrower side for 10.5 wheels. They will look stretched a bit on the edges. When you are on the high side of the application chart for 275s, 9-11 for most, it's not going to sit square. I would love to see a pic of a 275 on a 10.5 wheel that sits perfectly square. I have not to this date, regardless of the different applications and/or section widths, seen one that sits better than 285s.

I currently have Falken 275/30/19's on at the rears and want to replace them w/ TOYO T1-r's 285/35/19's. I have 9.5 wheels out back.

This is purely for looks. Just like the looks of a wide tire in on the rear wheels.
