I am in the same dilemma as everyone else. The original OEM RE40's are due for a change on the rear although I generally like to change all four together. I have got 42000 on the set so far I would classify myself as a 'spirited' driver when the conditions are right....like no cops around. I have viewed so many tire web sites and Tire Rack and to be honest it's a crap shoot. The reviews on Tire Rack are some what mixed regardless of what tire you are looking for....in the end it's going to come down to your own choice...price, wear, looks, driving conditions etc. I was looking at the Falken 912 tires until I saw that they were made in Thailand...didn't give me a warm and fuzzy even though I had them previously on my Maxima 2001 SE. Any one got some suggestions?

I replaced the factory Potenza's on my 2006 stock Z a few months ago and decided on the Hankook V12's. So far I've logged about 2,000 miles on them and have nothing bad to say about them. They have very good grip in dry weather, I think they're quieter than the Potenza's and its hard to beat the price of these things.

I currently have 18" Nitto NT 555 225/45 Front 245/45 Rear.

They don't handle well enough in wet conditions, which is my main concern.

I drive pretty aggressive on the street. I'm looking for around 300 treadwear as I like to kick the *** out on a regular basis but I'm getting more wheel hop on semi-hard takeoff as I have upgraded clutch/flywheel to JWT and putting more torque to the wheels. I am also upgrading suspension in next few weeks to help with the hop. If anyone has suggestions there also, let me know!

Right now I get wheel spin in the straight away in 1st at 3500 rpm and 2nd at 5000rpm. I want to also eliminate that.

I've run two sets of the Hankook V12's and I've been very happy with them as well. 245/35R19 and 285/35R19 at a great price and very good performance.

Bridgestone RE-11s are the stickiest street tire I have ever tried. Only slightly less sticky than R888s at the 500 whp level. Better in the wet though and much quieter to boot. PS2s are definitely a step down from the RE-11s.

Thanks for the reply.I'll check them out. Bummer of a day yesterday , came around a corner and part of the cement curb was pushed away from the edge. Caught the rims and scratched them up on one side.AUGH!! Now I am looking at new wheels too. One of the guys said I can get them burnished outEnjoy the sunshine. Thanks from Ct.

Hey Guys. Played in the Tire Rack site ..interesting... I too consider myself as a 'spirited' driver"when I can. My tire guy also has similar things to say and has pointed me in the direction of the pirelli pzero nero 24545r18 and 22545r18 , hankook v4 es h105's and the michelin piolet sport a/s plus. Any thoughts about the Pirelli's? Also a site for some new wheels at a good price or where to get them rubbed out?

From my research, Pirelli Pzeros weight about 10-13% less than many of their like-sized counterparts. That's all the info I can provide for now; my pair of Rossos is sitting in my garage waiting for my spacers/studs to get here.
