square and conservative
I'm considering putting some enkei rpf1 17x8.5 w/30mm offset with 245/45/17's on all 4's - going square. I'm looking for the best handling/performance while keeping the car as a good comfortable daily driver. I'll be using the same setup for an occasional autocross and track day for fun. My car is an '04 touring roadster (only tcs, no vdc).
Any reason not to go this route? Better or other options?
Thanks.

I was also considering 255/45/17's on all 4's. Or, while still getting four 17x8.5 rims, going staggered with the 245's up front and 255's in the rear. Though I like the idea of going square for several reasons.
With the 275's on 9.5's would I need to do some fender rolling?

The only offset available in 17 x 9.5 is +38. 275's should fit all around without rolling the fender, although if you run a lot of - camber in the front it will probably rub on the suspension. There is also a 9" +35 available which is the exact size I use for auto-x with 275/40's and no rubbing.
