Default In the market for some new tires..question about sizing

I've read through the forums and decided that I want to go with the Yokohama ADVAN S.4. tires.

The size I want to get is 245/45-18 up front and 255/45-18 in the rear...

My question is, with these tire dimensions, will my speedo and everything still be accurate or will it be off by a little?

What if I go with 245/40-18 and 255/40-18s?

Also, does anyone have the Yoko tires? How do you like them?

the 45 profile would make the sidewalls taller than stock, maybe try a 40 series? Im not sure about correct sizes....when putting wider tires on stock wheels, but this should get you the correct size youre looking for.....

I havent heard anything about the yokos, but if youre looking for a good tire for a decent price, check out the BFG KDW2, and Toyo T1R.

I just tired some different sizes, your best bet is the 245-40-18 and 265-40-18, that way you keep the correct stagger, and the diameter is closest to stock.

When I went to nissanhelp.com they listed the stock track tires as 225/45-18 and 245/45-18...why would I have to drop down to 40 from 45 if I increase the tire width?

Also, ive read some reviews and it seems that the Yokohoma tires offer the best grip and all around performance. I do a lot of spirited driving in the hills, and plan to do a few trackdays a year...so I want something that has powerful grip.

If youre going from a 225 to a 245 in the front, you need to drop the profile from the 45 to a 40. The 40 means that your sidewall size is 40% of the tires width. You CAN use a 245-45 for the front, and 255-45 rear, but your sidewalls will be taller...which IMO looks bad, and makes the overall diameter larger.

Oh...I see..

My original plan was to go with 265's in the rear, but they didn't offer the tire size with the 45mm profile.

But now that I know better...if I went with 265's would I need wheel spacers, or would there be any rubbing of any sort?

245/45R18 (OEM) compared to 255/40-18. At 100 MPH you will be off 2.50 MPH.
