BBS, is second nature for Porsche, but I have to admit those TE's look nuts on the Porsches.

Kenesis are very popular with the porsche crowd as are BBS and Fiske. Champion also makes some nice designs.

Fuchs are for classic porsches.

HREs are junk.

HREs are no better, they have been banned from IMSA because of that problem.

I've been racing since 1992....I've never seen any real race car running HRE's.....

They are, like most wheels, a looks oriented wheel, not a motorsports oriented wheel

I do agree that HREs are for looks not performance oriented, but to get banned because it happened so frequent is another thing. I also been reading that they bend easy.

Here is a Vette that has one that is cracked

All good options but it seems they all have a similar style. Mostly the mesh look. Anyways I have him looking at the tech art stuff and pushing him to get a Tech art exhaust as well.

What makes it a good wheel? -the manufacturing and forging process of the wheel and it's racing history in a handful of motorsports. You don't hear too much about Volk rims cracking or being defective, and if you do, it's usually a rare exception in a large sample of wheels bought.

Even BBS has a forging factory in Japan, which says something about the level of quality from the premier wheel manufacturers who are derived from there. (WORK, RAYS, SSR etc..)

And I agree with everyone else. Those Volks don't look so great on the porsches. They could use a more aggressive offset. Can't blame em, since not too many people go that route, so the extremes are not explored.

those are made by 9ff (Germany) - not sure who actually makes the wheels for them but I'm fairly certain it's an exclusive design to them
