Default Pics of my Z with the new tires...

I bought the Bridgestone Potenza RE050A Pole Positions. Thanks to the guys in the Tech Area of this forum, I feel like I got some of the best tires out on the market. They handle awesome and my ride is now quiet enough so that I can hear the nice hum of the Z exhaust.

Nice, are they similar to the stock tires ? Everyone keeps saying the stock tires suck. I wouldnt know, I have a new 2007 and have nothing to compare to the stockies.

I'll be going with those also. Glad to hear they work as well as the hype.

I think they might be similar to the stock tires. My car had a mixed set on beforehand (Bridgestones and Dunlops). These new tires are the stock size 225/45R18 front, 245/45R18 rear.

These tires really give me a much better ride than the ones I had on before. I'm not sure if I answered your question. I'm not really clear on what stock tires are, myself.

Yeah. I was amazed when I drove it out of the tire store. I could actually hear my engine and the radio. [The drastic road noise reduction was the first thing I noticed]. I've been driving around without the radio lately just so I can here the engine humming.

I submitted a thread a couple weeks ago asking what kind of tires I should buy and these tires were definitely hyped up a lot from most people--I figured they'd be a safe bet.

Glad they're working out for you. Those particular tires should feel fully broken in within ~200 miles.

Thanks. Today I've got to get the alignment done. Their alignment machine was broken when I had the tires put on so they had to wait. I didn't drive much this weekend because of that. I plan on really testing the tires out once I get the alignment done.

Cool, mind if i asked where ya got them and about how much they cost ya? Right now Im looking at getting them at Tirerack, but i certainly wouldnt mind finding them cheaper. Im probably going to do 245/40/18 and 275/40/18.

Pm me if youd rather answer that privately.

No problem at all. I paid 850 total for the tires and installation. The tires listed at 782 on tire rack before the 100 dollar discount. With the discount it was 682. Then, you have to figure in shipping is about 80 dollars. That brings the total to 732. Then, you have to add about 100 dollars for installing the tires. That brings the total to 832. When you figure taxes and what not, you are looking at 850 total.

I bought my tires through a store here in Atlanta called Tires Plus. They are a Bridgestone dealer, so they gave me the deal for 950 (matching the internet deal). I will be getting my 100 dollar rebate in the mail soon so it actually cost 850.
