KD = Key feature Dry traction, KDW = key feature dry and wet traction, KDWS = key feature dry, wet, snow traction

I just threw on a set of 452's last weekend as part of my upgrade from the oem 18" wheel and potenza tire combo. Thus far, I have been very pleased. The tires hook up better, are much quieter, and ride very nice. During some recent rainstorms, I never once felt any indication of hyrdoplaning. I am not a tire expert, but I am very happy with these tires.

My first choice was the Toyo T1R's, but everyone was sold out of them locally, and I was in a rush to slap my Volks on. For the price, I think the Falken 452's are a great tire.

I put on some 452s recently and am surprised at how good they are: quiet, nice ride, and the grip is very good. On par with the Michelin Pilot sports, though quieter. Maybe a slight, slight touch less performance, but much better in the other categories.

Default kdw or proxy

hey guys,

anyone with Volk GTS ett of +17+18 running kdw.s at 285.35.19

initially thinking of toyo proxy as many have done this but worried that kdw's were wider than proxy thus running into fitting issues...

prefer kdw due to tread and grip.

anybody?

You're going to run into fitment issues with the +17/+18 GTS with a 285/35/19 no matter which tire you go with. Even the Toyos won't clear when the suspension compresses. Get the tires you want and roll your rears.

thanks for ur response jdm...

yes, I'm definitely rollin or shreddin my fenders...
from all I've read, this is a given...

however, I just thought that proxes will give me more clearance than kdw's
I thought I read somewhere that kdw 285's are wider than proxe's 285.
I just like kdw's better and will be getting a very special price that will be very difficult for me to turn down...almost half off.

currently on tanabe gf210's...

i've had my kdw's for about a year now with about 18k miles.. wear is good with plenty of tread left, especially on the front and the tires grip really well in both wet or dry conditions.

If you can get kdw nt for half off then you should deff do that. I have had mine for about 8k miles and I am verry happy with them. I'm going to try some goodyer eagle F1 gsd3 next, if my kdws ever wear down.

I had a set of the Falken ST115's and I liked them very much. I know have a pair of KDW's and am pretty impressed. They are noiser then the Falkens, which I could care less about that stuff, and love my raspy test pipes to prove it, but you can definitely notice more road noise on the highway. They are pretty sticky as well, until you reach that limit, then they are just weird. They get kinda squishy and dont grip good once traction is lost. They are entirely different then the Falkens in that respect. I never had a problem with the ST 115's in the rain, even on the highway. Its only rained a few times since the KDW's, but no bad experiences yet as well.

I upgrades to wider tires which would obviously add traction in dry but increase slipping in wet. I bought the Falkens and love them. As others have said they are quiet so you can hear exhaust and not tires. I would definitely buy these again whenever they wear out.

I love my 452's. Never had a grip or traction problems so far. They are great in the rain and are very quiet. I love being able to hear my radio, well now my exhaust instead of my tires.
