Hi Im new to this site and I have searched for this specific topic and couldnt find any...
I had just purchased some MSR rims rear(19x10) front(19x8.5),
the offset for the rear is 40mm, I tested the rim buy itself and the back is about an 1 inch or so away from the shock, will I need a spacer if so how big any advise will help...

I don't think so. I think that's the same specs as what the 350Z GT's are running, except 18x8.5 in front...

The wheel clears the strut and calipers? Sounds like the tire will also be OK. Give it a try.

The grand touring has a 30 mm offset all around.... the rear is 19x10 and lots of room.

The 8.5 wide should work in the front.
It does with 35 offset.

BTW:9.5 wide in front will not work without a spacer.
