Default Tire sizing for 18x9.5 rims all around

I tried to search buy did not find anything answers the question.

so, with 18x9.5 all around which tire size is appropriate?

I also see people with different size tire on the rear even they have same 9.5 width front and rear, why?

if you have 18x9.5 all around setup please show some picture with detail

Thanks alot.

We would need to know the offset of the wheels and how low you plan on going in order to tell you the correct tire size you shold run.

18x9.5 +25 yeah you can run a 275 or more
18x9.5 +5 245 would be more your size

and now height starts to play a role

275/40 rear with a 255/40 front or 285/35 rear and 265/35 front.

255/35/18s or 265/35/18s all around. If you want different sizes I'd go with 245/40/18s up front and 265/35/18s. I think running anything wider would be overkill and would look like crap on a 9.5 wide wheel.

IMO stay above 255/265 wide tires...otherwise the tires won't protect your rims.

for performance, I'd run front: 265/275, and rear 275/285 (depending of tire availability and cost)...this assumes you have the correct offset.

thanks for everyones' input.

the offset is 20 all around.
I am thinking 275/40/18 which is the most close aspec ratio to stock tire size.
would that be okay for both front and rear?

That might rub in the front. What suspension are you on and what is your camber in the front? I'd probably run 255/40 front, 275/40 rear.

Listen to this guy, he knows what he is talking about, and runs a similar setup himself

Running any kind of stagger defeats the purpose of having same sized rims. OP... just get 265/35/18's. If you want wider in the future, go for it. For now... just BUY some damn tires. Summer is almost over.

I am running 18x9.5 all the way around and am running 275/35 F ~ 275/40 R

There is some variance in the tire sizing though that the specs don't necessarily reflect so you need to be cautious with that.

For instance
My first set of tires were Kuhmo SPTs and the tread on the 275/35 were exactly the same width as the 275/40.

My current tires are Mich. Pilot Sports and the fronts are 1/4" wider than the back.

My next set may be the bfg kdw2 and because they don't make a 275/40 I am going to try the 285/40 on the back instead. I have seen this setup in person and the diameter difference is negligible and there is little tire bulge.

thanks all! I am thinking either 265/35/18 or 265/40/18 all around.
