It's all preference. Some poeple like the stock wheels painted while others dont. Search the gallery and decide for yourself. Trust me, you arent the first to do it.

Members paint the OEM wheels a variety of colors. Photos are in the wheel forum. If you want colored OEM wheels, then do it. Don't ask my permission.

+1! The Rays track wheels don't look too bad coated, especially if you just use them on the track.

There is nothing wrong painting or powdercoating your stock rims. I've done both & they look good (in addition to saving me $$$s).

Here is a picture of my powdercoated 17" stock rims with 275/40/17 race tires:

Here is a picture of my painted 18" track rims with 245/40/18 race tires:

I also painted my '06 rims (gunmetal) but I don't have a picture to post.

I did my 05 stock wheels black and I love it. I run them in the winter with snow tires and they hide the dirt better and clean off better.

I was thinking about it to and actually went to price it all out.

Problem is your rims are probably ALREADY powder coated. The price to get them stripped is the same as, or possiblely more than the poweder coating.

So if you really want to keep them then sure go for it, but your looking at atleast 200 a rim to do so.

btw that white Z above looks very clean.
