Irrespective of what happened, great to see the OP updating the thread that the company came good on the deal and are replacing. That's good after sales service. There are a lot of companies that should try that.

what is happening to these wheels? are people curbing them to crack them? or are they just cracking to no reason?

I did. Ran them for over a year and no issues. I now have some Volk GT-V and some custom GT-7 in the works. I went from 1 set of axis to 2 sets of Volks

If you read the description, it states that it was the manufacturing process from a company that Axis stopped using.

For the most part it could be a huge liability for axis if it effects the integrity of the wheel. Second of all, it is a manufacturing defect.

I hope everything goes smoothly for him when replacing the wheel. I would personally expect axis to pay for the remounting of his tire onto the new wheel as well.

Correct me if I'm wrong but Axis only had cracking problems with the Hiro, right? This did not affect other wheels in their line, did it?

Correct. It was a bad batch of hiro's that had cracking issues across the states.

In my opinion. For anyone thats rocking hiro's, you should grab a hammer and crack it yourself when you dent or scratch your rims and call up axis for a replacement.
