I was wondering what would be the correct offset be for the 350Z. Does it depened on what brand of wheel I get, or it dosen't matter what kind of wheel I get?.
I'm looking to get 19x10's for the rear and 19x9's for the front and I just don't wan't the wheels to come out past my fenders. Any suggestions?

I'd say about a 33-35 in rear and 30-35 in front

My 19x9.5's (rear) have a 35mm and that will put them just inside the fender with about .25" to spare.

Just my two cents worth...you should have room to move with the offsets discussed above. I really need to get mine installed (sitting in a box in the garage right now!), but if you go 9" in the front you should be safe all the way down to +20 and for the 10" rears you should be good down to the same...but a little tight. I went +25 front and back with the 9 and 10's you inquire about and have no doubt of a perfect fit for the look I want...no need to roll the fenders even if I run the 295's I'm planning. Keep in touch if you like...I should have them installed within a week or so if I can just get my **** together and make time!

I finally got my RAYS GramLight Pro 57's last week! They are awsome looking and I can't wait to install...but am working out the tire deal and waiting on the centering rings that were supposed to come with the wheels. They are 18 x 9 and 18 x 10's and I'm either going to run the new Goodyear Eagle F1's or Toyo T1-S's. Goodyears only if my friend that works there can hook me up near cost....but that would mean I'd be running 275/40/18's and 245/40/18's instead of the 295/35/18's and 265/35/18's I want to run. Toyos will cost me over $900 and I prefer to run the phat rubber...but the price on the Goodyears might be too good to pass.

I had to order the wheels months and months ago...so it's been a long time in the making. I had to do a crapload of research because I kept getting different "facts" from different people on the availability of certain specs I wanted. I ultimately ordered these wheels custom in an offset that no one else had...one other guy got in touch with me an ordered the same and he just got his shipped out to him today...so if I don't hurry up he is going to have his mounted before me!

hm...i'm embarassed to ask this, but how do you go about figuring out offsets for wheels

i'm planning on getting 18s or 19s all around (not sure how wide), but i wasn't sure how to figure out the offsets.

i've seen some ppl with 19x8.5f 19x9.5r with 22mm offsets using Volk TE37's...is that right?

Here's what I do to determine whether or not a wheel will fit the 350Z.

I have figured out that the wheel "front spacing" or the distance between wheel mounting surface and inside of the outer bead of the rim, needs to be about 3.1 to 3.6" in order to keep the wheel just inside the fender with enough clearance for hard cornering and bumps.

So....

Here's the formula to determine where your wheel will sit.

Take the width (in inches) and multiply by 25.4 to get mm.

Then divide by 2 to find the centerline of the wheel width.

Add the offset

then divide that sum by 25.4 to bring the number back into inches.

subtract this last number by the wheel width to determine "front spacing"

if the number is less than 3.6 I guarantee you will have no issues with rubbing... even with 1" drop.

here's an example

19x9.5 +35mm offset (my wheels)

9.5 x 25.4=241.3

241.3/2 =120.65

add offset of 35

120.65+35=155.65

divide by 25.4 to get inches

155.65/25.4=6.12 (btw, this # is your approximate backspacing)

now subtract 6.12 from wheel width of 9.5

9.5-6.12=3.37

3.37" is the wheel front spacing. it falls within the sweet spot of 3.3 to 3.7.

Remember.... you have to add about .5" to this to get the dimension from the wheel mounting surface to the outer most edge of the wheel lip because wheel widths are not measured outside to outside, but rather bead to bead.

As some of you have seen, my new wheels are just inside the fenders by about .3"

remember..... 3.1 to 3.6 is the sweet spot... you can go less but be carefull about going more... especially if you drop your car more than 1"

No reason to be embarased Woogemooge, the 350Z is new and we have to find out from someone and pleanty of people on this website already have wheels on their cars. I had to ask for my self and rodH gave me some answeres and N74DV posted a formula for offsets. Good luck kid.

I would use the offset calculator at the top of the wheels and tire forum.

If you like the way the stock wheels sit- go with offsets in the 30's

If you want the wheels pushed out to the edges of the fender use offset's in the 20's. however a 10in wide rear wheel at +30 offset will be at the fender's edge.

I wouldn't use any offsets in the 40's.
these are just rough guidelines, once you find a wheel you like you have to find out what offsets are available and go from there.

keep in mind.... offset numbers alone mean jack diddly

you have to take into account the wheel width.

just because a wheel has a 35mm offset doesn't mean it's an "optimum" offset. a 35mm offset on a 7.5" wheel will sit further in than a 35mm 10" wheel.

Use the formula I outlined in my previous post and you are gauranteed to have optimum offset.
