Default My SS with HREs and Rods CS with iForged pics

I went up to orange county to check out Rod's clear bra (see pics other thread on clear bra) and took some shots of my HRE 445's with 295/35-18 rears and 265/35-18 fts next to Rod's 275/35-19 rears and 245/35-19 fts with his iforged.

Since I own HRE's, I can compare. Rod's Iforged wheels are beautiful, quality looks great. Both of these wheels are of excellent quality. The big question in the past has been Iforged customer serivice. I would be interested in those of you that are within one weeks time of getting your Iforged wheels. If you get them without much hassle like Rod did, they would be a great choice.

I love my HRE's, Rod loves his wheels, this is how it should be, IMHO. both cars look great. As you can see, we both of similar taste in wheels, car color etc...

Here is a bunch of pics so you can compare....

Jeff

Some of the things you can check out to compare thr two cars is:

1. The SS has 18 wheels VS CS with 19"
2. The SS has 35% tint vs CS with no tint.
3. The SS has bigger tires
4. Maybe some of you on the fence between CS or SS will benifit from the comparison. Also not difference between wider spoke vs narrow. Bolts vs none.
5. Rear Spolier vs none.
6. Note chrome edges on ft of Rod's Z. Can you see it?

Beautiful wheels, both of of you guys! For the 18" car you might consider dropping it a bit with the Eibachs? It would be nice to close up the fender gap a bit.

The chrome strips (especially with the vertical ones) on rodH's car look pretty good, much better than with just the horizontal strips.

I'm still inspired to get rodH's wheels, but iforged's customer service issues are holding me back.

what he is referring to here is, look BEHIND the face/spokes, mine are polished where the HREs are not.

TheLex:

I have considered Eibach for months but now I am strongly considering NISMO S suspension rather than Eibach for 3 reasons:

1. NISMO lowers car too but has Nissan warranty behind it. With feathering issues not resolved, i am thinking it would not give Nissan a way out from fixing my Z as compared to Eibach most likely voiding warranty.

2. NISMO seems to have better reviews on handling than Eibach which seems to improve it but not as much.

3. Eibach may need to have alignment done after making cost higher thus closing the gap with NISMO. If dealer installs NISMO, it seems it is their problem to get camber/alighment correct to me.

the negative is I think eiback is a little bit lower than NISMO if I am correct. I think it is 1.2" vs .8" if I am correct.

zland, I understand your concerns about just doing the Eibachs instead of the full Nismo kit. However I don't think any of us really knows if by using Nimso, Nissan USA will stand behind it. I'm sure you'll have a stronger case by using Nissan's performance parts though.

Yes, I think Nismo suspension would handle better than just lowering springs since it is a fully adjustable suspension. Coil overs are obviously the way to go if $ no object. How much better? I guess it depends if you're going to track the car where 10ths can make huge differences. Nismo suspension has gotten great reviews though. But for that matter, so have the Eibachs.

From what I have read so far, those who have done the Eibach's haven't had to do the alignment.

BTW, any news on the subwoofer?

drop it?? na, I LOVE it the way it is, I have LOWERED every car I have owned in the past 12 years, this one DOESN'T need it (much like M3s, 911s, etc...)

Default Drop that car!!!

Rod, your car looks great bro. We share the same experiences when it comes to dropping every car in the past. I wish I had your will power by not dropping the Z, but I don't. I will think of you when I hit a steep driveway or try to get my exhaust system over a BIG speed bump.lol Ouch.
Notice the AMG rear, at least 1 inch lower. I like the squat look.
My girls BMW 330 with sport suspension and 19inch Breytons looks slammed, your right. Except for the front end. I don't know why but the front is always higher then the rear on the bimmers with S.Sus. Ther rear looks tucked and perfect

About the sub....Paul told me on Friday they had 3 fts and back made and just needed to put them together and if no problems arose, by end of week. Mine is the test mule so I go first. He thinks it is a go this time and since he has got parts made now, there hopefully is not any more delays in the future. Once he gets one done, they should start rolling out after that.

nope, the SL is 3 fingers gap in front, 3+ in rear, while the Z is beaerly 2 fingers front and about 2 1/4 fingers rear, THE Z is LOWER/less clearance than the SL. I just think it is a typical "grass is greener on the other side syndrome".

btw, the SL has 18" and the Z has 19" so the Z should even look like there is even LESS clearance.

btw, I share the same problem you do in another way, I told myself that I will NOT mod the engine on this car, NO need with 287 HP, well of course I am now looking fo other ways to get more power, like my dad says "you can NEVER have enough power"

Agreed. I think any lowering on this car would give off that slammed look. The 19s fill the wells nicely. When I get to be in this situation I would not want to lower. However I would like to kill some body roll. I already haev scraped up the plastic diffuser.
God forbid I scrape the paint on the bumper!!!
