Sorry to bump an old thread, and I'm probably just paranoid but when everybody says to use "soap and water" I understand that's just the same soap you use to wash your car. But what if the soap also contains a wax in it like the Meguiars wash n wax?
Is that still safe? And also is it safe to use the standard carnuba wax you use on the car for the wheels also? Or do you have to get the wheelwax?
Thanks!

like op said tread your wheels just like your paint, those soaps are fine just rise the wheels first to try to remove as much dirt as possible then rub gently with those micro fiber towels or sponges. to wax the lip i use meguiars cleaner wax, the same for my paint.

Ok so what if your rays are already FUBAR and you just want to get them looking better?
Mine have streaks on them. I used very abrasive wheel cleaning products to remove brake dust that was probably left on the wheels for years when I bought the car.
Any restoration tips? The rims appear to have streaks on the finish. Like a window that was sprayed with windex and never wiped dry.
Please edit restoration tips in the OP post.

Sorry. I meant the ones on the front. The previous owner took the "Volk Racing Wheels" stickers off and there are still some sticky residue on the spoke.

hi, i just bought a used CE28 Titanium Silver (matte silver) Monoblock.. when i touch them, its like there is no clear coat on these wheels!!
how can i clean them and wash them!? one of my friends recommended that i use a teeth brush with teeth gel and rub them softly!!!! i tried it and it worked!! allot of brake dust that was sticking on the wheels came of!! but i only did one wheel!! i dont wanna try it on four wheels and then later on i notice some side effects!! so i tried only one!!
soo any other advise on how to clean my monoblocks??

I know it looks bad in the pictures..however thats only half the wheel. Take a look...the previous owner attempted to clean of whatever that buildup is on the other half and surprisingly it worked...you can also see some leftover polish in the crevice..Unfortunately I don't know what was used...so I'm going to take the advice in this thread and proceed from there.
I wasn't able to find the Bon Ami...Going to try Ace tomorrow to see if they carry it.
Sofa King, thanks for the recommendation. If I can't find Bon Ami I will try your stuff..
