Which is a better tire?

I'm looking for a quiet tire that handles well.

well, neither tire is gonna handle well at all. Stay away from the all-seasons.

From my experience with the OEM and those Ecsta Asx, the OEM tires have better grip and stability. May not last as long, but definitely didn't break loose like all-seasons.

I ran the Kumho ASX tires for over 1 year in all sorts of weather from winter in Virginia to summer in California. I push well over 400whp and I loved those tires. Handled better than the Toyo T1-S I was running before and they wear great.

+1 on the ECSTA ASX's. Have them on my wife's car (they replaced Michelin Pilots, great tires, but we have seasons where I live). If you need an all season tire it is a good choice.

nice to hear good reviews on the Kumhos.

No one has tried the Avons?

They both have good reviews at tirerack and they are cheap as hell. Wanted to know how they run on the Z.

+2 on the Kumho Ecsta ASXs.

Very quiet when new, only a bit louder as they wore (out).

Great acceleration/braking grip, I've used them as practice and rain tires (although the fronts -- after two years -- still have some tread, they are very slippery now)

Ive had kuhmos and they were good but they wore fast in the back. I switched to bridgestone potenza 960AS pole positions, and they're MUCH more sticky even though they're AS. Also, I wouldnt try to drive in the snow even in AS tires with the Z. Im going to see how these tires handle in the snow and ill make my final decision on whether or not all season tires are even worth it on the Z. The kuhmos slipped on snow, but were better than stock.

I just got the Avon 550's and so far I like them. I have driven them on wet roads and they grab really good, much better than stock. I also used so3 pole positions and they grabed just as good as those until the thread came apart on the high way on all 4, so I'll never use bridgestone again.

I have the Avon A/S ... they are LOUD. However, I do have an 03G with the infamous tire feathering issue...so that is probably the main cause of the loudness. The tire lasts a long time. In terms of grip, they are all-seasons so you should only expect so much...and you get what you pay for.
