Default black wheels red lips

Before i get flamed, i did a search and came up with nothing.

I'm looking for a black rim w/a red lip. i found this pic of e-bay.

I have a red roadster and i'm wanting something a little different that you usually see but at the same time still looking good. I've been in the market for some rims for the past 2 weeks now and i can't seem to make up my mind. i was going to do red rims w/a polished lip or black rims but now i'm thinking this might look some what decent. Anyone have any idea where i can order a set of rims like this?

Buy any set of rims you want, then get them color matched to your redline color. If you buy rims with a red lip already, and the color doesn't match your car's perfectly, it will look like ***.

Look in the mag at Sportmax article(ad) they have those on a supra. Looks good.

Chris

I wouldn't go overboard and have them paint matched to your car b/c they might not be able to match and if that doesn't then it looks tEh suk Same thing about the guy looking for red lugs on his Redline. The reds will match and blend over time.

Chris

Rota makes the P45R in black w/red lip

Also there are the Time Attack edition Volk TE37's and CE28's if you can find a set.

Time attacks don't have a red lip, really. It's just a red line around the edge.

I think he's referring to an actual reverse lip that's red. I agree with the above poster to take them with the car to a powder coat place and have them color match them.

I would hardly say the volks are the innovators, people have been doing this since back in the 90's, volk just popularized it and gave it a catchy name

Yes, you're absolutely right. But the Time Attacks don't have a red lip just like taurran said. Monoblock wheels in general don't have lips, period. Nobody ran red trim wheels for the longest time, I can't think of a single cover or featured car that had black/red trim wheels in the last 5+ years. RAYS reinvented this design in a fresh and modern way. Now look, almost all the wheel companies that are out are trying to bite the style RAYS had created. If it wasn't for RAYS innovation and creativity plus the marketing power of Mackin Industries, this style of wheel would not be as popular as it is today.

"reinventing" and innovating are not the same thing though, the mugen's posted above are from the 90's, and sportbikes have had the same time style for a long time. I don't deny that they repopularized it, but they didn't create anything other than a catchy name.
