I just put an order for a set of P45Rs. They are 18 x 9.5" rims both front and rear. Whats the best tire size combo I should go for? Any suggestions?
i'm getting some tires for a friend...same size wheel and doing 245/40/18 fronts and 265/35/18 rears...using the new Dunlop Direzza Z1's!
if you want to max out the tire...go with 265/35/18 front and 285/35/18 rear like terrasmak said.

I recently bought four new wheels and they are all 18x9.5 +22. I plan on trying 255/35 front and 265/35 rear size tires.
Now, I didn't just pull these tire and wheel sizes out of the air. Everyone knows that you have to run a slight stagger on a 350Z to keep the ABS and TCS (or VDC) from going wacky. However, I decided that I wanted the tire sizes as close as possible so that the grip will be similar and that the front tires don't slide that much easier. So I decided a 10mm difference in width should satisfy that requirement.
Second, I wanted the sidewalls stretched to my liking. I have had problems in the past using performance tires on the minimum recommended wheel width and it feels sloppy. Plus, I have a theory. If I run a slight stagger on the same size wheels, it will cause the fronts sidewalls to be stretched (stiffer) and the rears are just a little less stretched, which causes the rear tires be less snappy (unpredictable) when they exceed grip.
I already run a setup like this on a set of 17x8.5 +35 wheels with 235/45 front and 245/45 rear tires that I use for drifting. It is extremely responsive. If you decide to try these sizes, let me know how you like them.

The front tires are 10.5mm taller than the rear. Are you sure you want to do this?

I'm going 265/35/18 front and 285/35/18 rear on 9.5" rims for the Z.
On my stang, I had 275/40/17 in the front on 9" rims and 315/35/17 in the rear on 10.5" rims.

unless you have VDC I dont know why youd take non-staggered wheels and run staggered tires. Tire rotation FTMFW. + all the Time attack cars are running non-staggered setups.
