I persoanly thing the Black and gold rims are ugly in most cases. I have seen some gold wheels on the gold color Z that look nice and I have seen some black wheels that look good on some black cars. Back in the day of the muscle car everyone had chrome rims on their cars. I still love chrome rims. Is it a age thing?
A lot of chrome rims these days are of really crap quality. Plus they have been overdone by rap stars, basketball players, etc, which makes them associated with oversized 30" rims on SUV's etc.
If you want the chrome look, I would recommend looking at wheels that are polished aluminum. It looks a lot cleaner, and they are usually of higher quality.
iForged would be a good example of where to start looking.

Anything that has remotely anything to do with aesthetics is purely subjective. Sure there are always trends on things about what's in, what's hot, etc. At the end of the day, it is your car and you have to look at it everyday. You should do what makes you happy and not what other people thinks looks good. It's totally not an age thing at all. I know plenty of guys in this industry that are your age if not older that have wilder styles than I do. It's all about imagination and being innovative.

It's a bit of age thing, bit of type of the car, and a bit of personal preference IMO.
I personally think that chrome wheels don't go too well together with our particular cars.
Of course there are exceptions. Chrome wheels that are carefully thought out and cleanly executed look very attractive.
Personally, I'm sick of wheels with huge polished rear lip more.
Monoblock forged with little or no lip FTW.
Also I'm sick of same ol' wheels on almost every Z out there..why not try something different?
I GUARANTEE that NO ONE is rocking my next set of wheels but me(coming soon)

Well....I'm 51 and think that chrome wheels are tacky on a Z or any performance car. The chrome plating also adds weight. I have a few motorcycles, and my Harley has quite a bit of chrome splattered all over, in the form of add-ons. My crotch rockets never will.
