Well, couldn't call up my wheel distributor when I made the decision because they were closed. I'll have to call tomorrow. However, the longer I think about it, the longer my thoughts bounce back and forth like a ping-pong ball. Maybe I should keep the stock wheels for now, and spend the money on a Stillen true dual exhaust and a CAI?

Looks fantastic on the silver Z, but with the PPW, I'm looking to stick with polished. I had chrome on my '00 F-150 in 22" and it looked immaculate, but the truck was black. I think the polished silver and white accent one another nicely.

I have some 19" TSW's on my car. Not the best brand out there, but i think they improve the overall look of the car. The pic you posted of the rims with a lip don't look bad at all. The quality of the wheels has been great so far. Here's a pic of my car w/ TSW's if you're curious:

I don't understand why anyone would buy cheap *** rim on a Z. I mean, if you can afford the car, the least you can do is save up for big names like DPE,Volks,Works...etc. It will be worth the wait at the end and might save you more money on the long run.

Those TSW are ok, but its not that much better then those stocks, so you're not gaining much for the price. Trying to be different by buying cheap rims is a lame excuse since there are all sorts of good original rims. If you have no choice, then i agree, do other mods until you have enough to buy good rims.

You wheel fanboys are pretty funny. No wonder JDM companies are becoming gizallionaires because the G/Z guys are willing to blow $3k on only a set of wheels/tires. Another funny thing is that a lot of guys with $30k cars are actually struggling to keep up with the monthly payments like a lot of young owners here, and probably even with the $20k used ones.

Well JDM companies don't hike up the prices themselves. Keep in mind that usually the reason the prices are higher is because of shipping. Think about shipping a bumper here in the US, then imagine shipping that bumper overseas. Along with rarity, it makes the perfect situation for high prices.

As far as rims, there is a big difference in quality. When a set of 500 dollar rims blow up or bend prematurely and you have to go out and either repair them, or worst repair your car, I am sure you will be kicking yourself in the *** realizing that it could have been avoided if you brought a better brands product. When I refer to a better brand, I do not mean you have to go out and spend tons of money. There are plenty of good companies with rims that aren't too expensive. Work CR Kai's with a decent set of tires are under 2k.

When you say 3k on a set of wheels/ tires, keep in mind that tires usually can go upwards of 1k. You obviously do not realize how much wheels and tires can improve a cars overall performance. Think about every mod that you do, and put that equal if not under the benefits of a good set of tires/rims. You gain traction, better cornering response, and most of all braking power.

Lastly, it isn't the JDM companies that are making the billions, but rather the replica companies. Since they do not have to pay for R&D and quality of materials, the mark up is incredible.

trust me, if there was very good usdm wheel that i liked, i would have bought it. i refuse to buy from iforgery so what does that leave me with? craxis? american racing? TSW? if im gonna spend the money on wheels, im gonna buy something im going to be very happy with for a long time otherwise i feel like im wasting my money.

Just felt like I should make everyone aware that your opinions caused me to reconsider and make a different decision. I went with the Nismo wheels. Thank you.
