Default Help me on tire sizing to clear this wheel gap!(PIC)

Hey everyone, I have a wrong sized setup on the rear wheels, 275/30/19 while the front is 245/35/19.
The car is dropped mildly on Hotchkis springs and as you can see in the picture I included the front wheel gap looks alright but the rear wheel well has a giant gap.

I am looking to get a new set of rear tires but I would like some recommendations on the sizing.
My question is: Will 285/35/19 be too big to pair with the front tires or will 275/35/19 too small for the wheel gap I have?

Thanks.

I was with you until this statement....are you talking about the gap from the top of the fender to the sidewall of your tires? If so...then only the second number will change that. The way that the tire sizing reads is

width/sidewall height/wheel diameter

so logically, only the second number will effect the appearance of a "gap"

so to answer your question...I would go with 275/35/19 I am not for sure what your wheel width is..but this is important information because the 285 tire will have to stretch more if the rim is only 9" wide and will give it a shorter profile than the 275 would....if that makes any sense

so go 275....thats my recommendation.

i think the gap will go away if you switch the rear to a 35 series tire and match the front...it is not a good idea in my book to use different profile tires. staggering width is ok, but staggering profiles I dont think is a good idea....so this leads me to think that you are confused about the actual tire size....

Oh, I thought the wider the tire is the beefier it looks, I am not an expert on tires so please excuse me for my misunderstanding.
For your information the wheel width is 10.5, and thank you.

W.R.O.N.G. W.R.O.N.G. W.R.O.N.G. W.R.O.N.G.

Stop the misinformation. Sidewall height (i.e. 35) is an aspect ratio, dependent on the width. So, the sidewall height on a 285/35 will NOT be the same as a 275/35

To the OP: Go with the 285 for sure.

SORRY! I confused myself there...I meant to say go with the 285. I was basing my logic upon the assumption that his wheels were fairly wide. I figured the narrower (the 275) tire would stretch more and leave a lower profile...increasing his gap. Only.....I confused the hell out of myself and typed the wrong thing.

my bad.

Here is my car on Hotchkis springs and 285/35/19s to give you an idea of what your car may look like. But I'm switching to Eibachs this afternoon for a lower stance.

Thanks Vertex, do you have any side profile shots?

I will eventually go lower but this is as low as I would for just springs.

If it helps at all I am also on Hotchkis springs but I am running 245/35/19 front and 275/35/19 rears. Wheels are 9" and 10" wide with +25 offset (because I think the width/offset combo will also affect how the gap appears).
