Default What Type Should I Get?

Whats' up. I am looking to buy some new wheels for my 350 and im thinking bout going for the Volk SF Challenges. I don't really understand the whole offset crap and the tires. And how/why rims are tuck or more spaced out. So can someone help me out on which offset and tires i should get, and how i specify that on websites.
Thanks

Volk wheels are really nice. At least you are picking nice brands.

Offset will determine how far out and in your wheels will be. Usually people on this site run offsets from 22-28 for nice offsets. This will depend on widths as well. Volk wheels have a lot of rims that are made for the z so you won't be needing spacers.

Offset is the amount of space, from the center of the barrel of the rim, of where the wheel face will be attached to the hub. For example, you'll see a +22 offset common here. Imagine the mounting of the face (or design, whatever you want to call it) being at the center of the barrel, then moving it 22 mm towards the outside. Usually smaller offsets (especially towards the negative side) will lead to bigger lips.

Use a offset calculator to compare your current wheels to the new wheels. With the new dimensions, check the car with a tape. Do you clear the suspension, brakes calipers and fenders? Reference: http://www.1010tires.com/WheelOffsetCalculator.asp

Members can post photos and say “Get these.” but its a waste of time. No one picks wheels because someone else likes them.

a. Go to 350Z meets.
b. Look through the galleries.
c. Check google products for “wheels 350Z.”

Buy what you like.

You will get 10 recommendations for offset. None is best.

If you want bling, push the wheels to the fenders.
If you want performance, keep them tucked under the car.

Use the calculator that I posted. Its a great learning tool.

Please explain what you mean in the above post David. I'm curious why a wheel placed farther inside the wheel well will perform better than one placed farther out. Never heard that.

My apologies for the simple statement.

Extreme offsets that look cool for the street may not be suitable for competition like autocross. The body, chassis, suspension and wheels/tires twist and flex. The tires may hit the suspension or fenders. On the street the same set-up would be fine.

+22 is what most volk owners have. It sits flush with the fenders
