tps problem. please help
ok , i have read the thread "read this gefore you post about tps". here is the situation.
I installed LE37's w/o tps about three years ago and never had this problem. i never transferred the sensors from the oem rims. i did have the light come on after driving after 30 or so minutes.
last week i had new rubber installed and was going to install the sensors out of my old oem rims. i had the taken out of the wheels and the tech ended up breaking one. so final result i didn't have them installed after all. my dumbass drove from the shop home with the sensors in my car. the warning signal and light came on because they were reading no pressure due to being out in the open in the z.
took them out of the car and went to the dealership to reset the system. warning light and signal was cleared for the first start up. drove about 20 miles got out for about a half hour and then started it up agian and had the light and the psi blinker came on again. grrr.
same set up that i have been running for years and never had this problem. how do i fix it? please help. i thought that reseting it would take care of this. i thought i would have the light come on after not getting signal after drive time like it has done for years.

Your message is confusing.
Question: You said: "my dumbass drove from the shop home with the sensors..." ...Who is the "dumbass" you refer to here?
Your solution is being certain you have 4 working sensors that the dealer can calibrate.

If they are sitting inside your car, then it has the same effect as sitting at home in the garage. They don't transmit all the time. They have centrifugal switches that cause them to go on and start transmitting when the speed gets above around 20mph. Your warning light came on because it's still not getting a signal even though the sensors are IN the car.

sorry if i wasn't clear. i am a terrible writer.
i had the sensors in the cabin of the z not the wheels when i drove home from the shop. this made the warning go off. i took them out of the car and went to the dealership and had the system reset.
the warning light did not come on the first start up after leaving the dealership. but the second start up it came on right away.
i have ran this way without sensors for over three years and have never had the warning light come on right away. it usually comes on after about 30 mins of driving. now it has begun to have the psi light blinking which has never happened as well as the tps light.

wait.. im about to kind of go through this and i was throw off by the question above..
I just bought the TE Time Attacks and i really dont want to put the tps system onto the new rims so what would happen if i didnt? Would the {!} be on all the time or could i have it reset once and never have to worry about it again? If theres anyone out there who swapped wheels and didnt put the tps back on please let me know what the results are.

Yes, but now the readout on the display will be swapped around. The sensors are in each wheel, and the computer "knows" them by a unique ID number. Each ID is associated with a corner of the car. If you move them around, the computer doesn't know so you'd have to keep track of the positions.
BTW - normally we don't rotate wheels on the Z because of the staggered tire setup so this isn't usually a problem.

why would you? their staggered so the backs are wider then the fronts, if im not mistaken, therefore the only way to "rotate" your tires are going from left to right or vice versa, but you would also have to unmount the rim from the tire, flip the tire, put back on the wheel, and then move the wheel to the other side of the car...if im not mistaken
