it looks bad because it's on a hill with the ebrake on. I'll take more pics on level ground this weekend. ....but it's still too much gap either way

Maybe I'll just move... you know... Find a driveway to fit the car. not a car/spring to fit the driveway...

Thanks. That might be even better. My california duster seems to leave a wax residue on my paint if it is hot outside. I'll give it a try...

As far as keeping them clean... The lip is almost as deep as the Brake rotors. Not quite that deep, but close enough that there is just as much brake dust on the lip as there is behind it. Also, the polished and clear-coated lip has a mirror-like finish that shows every piece of dust.
As far as cleaning, to be more specific, they are actually really easy to wash, but a b!tch to dry. I get about 90 cc's of water trapped behind the piece where the spokes meet the rim and the rise in the barrel behind it. I used a syringe to suck the water out. Even driving around does not get the water out of the lip. I'll need to get a leaf-blower to help with drying these adequately.

thanks for the info.... by the way a really good air compressor would work probably just as well.

They look great. I had them in Super Gold, and I have gotten many comments on them.
I would recommend using Wheel Wax on them. It is easier to do with the wheels off, but if you apply it properly (2 coats), you can pretty much wash any brake dust off with just a normal hose. The lips are very deep, and it will leave pockets of water, which makes it a bit difficult to clean up.

I ordered some Poorboy's wheel sealant. We'll see how it goes.

Thanks Alvin. I am a sinner! lol. I am thinking about Hotchkis TVS stage-1.
I am not sure about the tires yet. The sidewall is a bit soft so they feel a little wishy-washy. I may play with the pressure a bit. I have them set at the factory 35PSI front and rear. The fronts look like they are about right on pressure, but the rears look like they could loose a pound or two of pressure. After hard cornering, the rears just barely use the outer edge.

I managed to get mad lip AND some concave on the rear! Just mad lip on the front.
Motormouth, don't chastize me about my wheel/fender gap :-) (I know you want to!). I live in an old part of town where many driveways were made to clear the bumper for a '65 Ford Galaxy! Not sure what I am doing for a drop yet.
Thanks to Chris at F1 Motorsports for the wheels and A bigger thanks to Sam at Sleek Motoring in Mountain View for a flawless tire-mounting job with zero damage!!!!!
I wanted something different than Volks. Wheels are AME Circular spec-r in matte black.
Tires are Eagle F1 GS D3
Fronts are 19 x 9 (+15) with 255/35/19
Rears are 19 x 10 (+15) with 275/35/19
I am LOVING the rims, but they are a b!tch to clean and keep clean.

Everyone, Sam is super-carefull with the tire mounting and still very fairly priced. He treated my wheels and car like they were his own. Took his time to be very careful. He added about 5 layers of tape to the rim before putting it on the machine. Even his narrow lug socket was taped around the outside, to prevent any possibility of damage to the deep lug wells on the rims. His facility is very clean and he has a good assortment of work, AME, and other rims.
First-class all the way.
In contrast, evey time I took my previous Z and old M3 to America's Tire Company in Mountain View, they would Dent, nick or scratch every wheel they touched. I think americas tire is too busy to be careful and pay attention. I even told them to be careful with a flat repair on my back wheel of the 06 GT that I had. Even after all the fuss, they still dented it in a couple spots.
If you're looking for a good wheel shop near Mountain View, Sleekmotoring is it.
Sam, you might want to consider becoming a sponsor on this site. I have no idea what it costs or what all you get in return, but this is hands-down the best z-car site out there. (IMO)
