You need to read up on how tire sizing works.


Hint: a 35 series sidewall is not always shorter than a 40.

soo ah, I knew it! 225/40 front and 245/35 rear since 9.5 is less then 10.5 so you need to add an inch more which sidewall come into play to balance it out. Am I correct?

P.s 215 is danger zone lol..I don't want it extreme stretch but mild stretch. My offset is 0 in front and -5 rear.

Same here. It's a preference and a style Terrasmack... I give props to both the functional meaty guys and the stanced guys. Alot of work goes into both wether one likes it ur not

Was just making a point that the sidewall number is a ratio, not a measurement. When you said "I wouldnt mix sidewalls" I assume you meant you wouldnt run, say, a 40 front with a 35 rear for example. Theres no reason why running two different sidewall "numbers" would be a bad thing as long as the tire widths make sense, for example a 305/30/19 with a 255/35 still provides a bit of f/r stagger. I know those are fat tires and this is the stretch thread, but again just making a point.

If I misinterpreted then I apologize. Its just that theres so much misinformation regarding tire sizes that Im quick to jump on it...perhaps too much so.

You've misinterpreted me. I used the word 'personally' in that original post to specify personal preference.

Moving on, what are you guys doing with fender liners and the belly pan? Mine fell off ages ago.

Belly pan, you can get a aftermarket aluminum one pretty cheap or just roll w/o.

And liners, alot of people run no liners but I was slammed on 20x10.5 +22 up front on my old z with no rubbing issues. So unless your getting stupid with it you'll be fine.

I've been driving my car slammed without any fender liners for the past month or two. I've even driven it through some very heavy rain. As long as your intake filter is not exposed, you will be just fine removing your fender liners.

yeah i was worried about that headlights, thats why i asked....maybe if i just cut the lower half of the fender liner would work? i only wanna do it so my bumper can flex inward when i go up driveways lol
