hi, i am a novice when it comes to wheels/suspension. i will be purchasing work meister s1 rims, sizes are 19x9.5 +24 offset for the fronts, 19x11 +17 for the rears. my knowledge to date is that i would need to buy adj coilovers. currently my car is running h&r springs 1" drop fronts and rears only. i am not looking for special coilovers for the track or drifting. i DD this car and just want to have them for adjust-ability when i am dropping the car to fit these rims nicely. also will i need to get camber arms and or rear upper control arms? bc racing, megan racing, hsd, are brands i have been leaning towards, but is this overkill for just cosmetic coils? i am aware rolling fenders is a possibility. also for tires i do like the look for undersize tires, exposing the lip of the rim. i would like to do this also. any input would be great, i dont want to buy the rims and realize after i have to fork up much more in the future, i rather just no what to buy now.

Offsets are a little weak on those specs, so idk how much of a stretch you will need. BC coils will do fine. Users like terrasmak will tell you BC, Stance, FA coils are garbage because they don't cost 6k and aren't for race applications. They're perfect for going low and daily driving. You probably won't need any camber adjustment front or rear with those specs. There's a lot of info in this thread so just look thru it.

thanks DC for the reply, thats what i figured about the coils. saying the offsets a bit weak, you are meaning that they are a conservative offset and not that aggressive. i have a look in mind, but i seen the rims in a shop and i just dont no how they will look on the car. hard to visualize it. they look good in person. the fronts seem to not have enough depth is what i noticed. the rears looked good to my eye. but like i said i dont no how they look on the car. what offsets are we talking that look good, and wont have me totally tearing this car apart?

Idk what kind of look you're trying to go for. Disk type is another factor with those wheels. Here's what those wheels look like in the rear with 19x11 +5.

Yours will be a little more sunk, so they're not going to poke very much. Is this what you want?

Welcome....I would not jump into 3k plus wheels and not get the correct offset off the back! You will regret it!

Continue to search and ask questions but for drifting your car is very capable in it's stock/OEM state.

The coils you listed are sub 1k and will do the job...but it's for how long is the question...some have lucked out and have not had issues...me personally I've seen the listed coils blow/leak/seize very quickly! Same goes for adjusting suspension arms!

I pm'd you this info as well...

okay will be doing more digging. i do like that look. the look im going for is the big lip look. when looking at the car from the front looking towards the rear, i just want to see all lip to rim. when you say how much the rim is sunk, are you talking about the offset or rim width. if your talking about how much the rim is sunk in to the wheel well, is there other options like a spacer. yes i no 3500$ is alot of just rims, this set are the only ones this shop has, 4-5 months for custom order i was told. so i would like to get the right rim before dishing out the coin for them and then regretting it after. thanks for the input

Hi guys, I'm close to ordering a set of the new Work Meister M1 3p in 18x9.5 +12 and 18x11 +12 and am keen to know what tires you'd recommend? I'm on coils and am thinking of quite low (slight tire tuck) also car is daily driven.

Tire I'm looking at are Nitto NT05 245/40 and 275/40

Hey,

Most people on mild set ups like the typical 19x9.5/10/5 +22 go for a 19/35/245, 19/35/275.
So based on that your side profiles seem a little high.
Depending on how low you want to go, I'm pretty sure you would need to go with a skinnier tire, especially in the rear, to avoid rubbing.
But I'm not an expert on fitment so perhaps someone else can chime in.

I'll be running 18s hence the "40" profile, unless 35 is the norm for 18s also. I'm on 19s now with 245/35 and 275/35 but they're completely different offset wheels

More help is welcome

Looking for some advice guys, wheels are in for a rebuild and have to decide on the new set up.

Either of these:
4.5" barrel w/6.5" lips front 11" wheel
4.5" barrel w/7.5" lips rear 12" wheel
or
4.5" barrel w/6.0" lips front 10.5" wheel
4.5" barrel w/7.0" lips rear 11.5" wheel

I'm currently running these size tires:
255/35/19 rears w/12" wheel
245/35/19 fronts w/11.5" wheel

I have a very nice stretch on the tires, and they are almost new so I'd like to keep them if possible with the new set up. So with that in mind the first set up would work best with my current tires. I just don't know or haven't seen anyone run a 6.5" lip up front, just wondering if that is overkill or what. I know Manny on here runs a 7" rear and that looks sick so that's not an issue it's the fronts. What you guys think?

What are your current size for your lips and barrels and what are your current offsets both front and rear? lip and barrel alone dont decide how aggressive the wheel is going to be.
