Correct. That is why my plans stopped last night. Obviously I am not going to drive around like that. I know quite a bit about suspension from dealing with previous cars I've owned with aggressive fitment and I do not want to drive around on coilovers with no preload. That kinda defeats the purpose of coilovers all together IMO.

Basically I need a much shorter shock. That way I can preload the spring and still be able to get the ride height I need. We measured that I need another shock about 1.5-2" shorter and I'll be good to go. I am going to go to Ksport and see what other shock bodies they have. Hopefully they have something on hand I can use but if not they said they will custom build me one which can take about a week to get here. No biggie.

On a side note, I left the coilovers in the car and preloaded the rear and raised the car to about 1/2" lower than my Skunk2 springs on stock struts was and these Ksport's ride extremely well. I have them valved full stiff right now and it is perfect for street driving. Fairly stiff but not bouncy whatsoever and very controlled. These are a true coilover in the rear with factory spring rates of 12/7 but I changed the rear springs to 10kg. I am really impressed with these coilovers.

Thanks man! Yeah it is coming along. I'll get it all fitted up soon enough, I have learned to become more patient in my older age LOL.

BTW, I thought 20s were gonna look way too big since I don't have a lip kit yet but it wasn't too bad. Of course I plan on doing a front lip and sides soon. I already have the Mastergrade cf rear diffuser that I have yet to install.

Sneak peek of my new setup. In this shot, I have only my front coilovers installed. It was hot as **** yesterday and I managed to change out my whole front brake setup before starting on the suspension so I'll finish the rears this week sometime.

Yes, these wheels have been around. There is no need to chime in and point that out if that is your only purpose. Offsets were on point so I had to pick them up.

Thanks Crawford, I really like the new setup too. I had 19" Burning Black VS-XX's as my 1st set of wheels on this Z....now 7th set...returned back to the VS-XX's just bigger and more agressive.

Thanks

Well I mounted up a 255/30/20 Proxes 4 on my rear 11" tonight and it holds air and seated but doesn't seat all the way to the lip lol. Its a couple mm away on the front and back. You can stick a quarter in there and it will touch the actual barrel of the rim. I'll get pics in a bit. Not sure I want to chance driving on that hardcore of a stretch.

I don't want to run a 265/30/20 so I might just find a tire that runs wider since the Proxes 4 are a very narrow tire.

Side note, tomorrow I am picking up shorter rear shock bodies (so I can go lower and keep the springs preloaded), front & rear camber arms and rear toe arms. I will try to work on the car during the week nights after work but more than likely I may have to wait till the weekend.

hatchboi - Nah man I wanna stay away from 35 series in the rear. I did some test fitting tonight and the 255/30 is F N right on the money!!! Its gonna work perfectly.

Royal - Yeah man, fugg it. I'm gonna roll with these 255/30's. They have mad poke. So what if you can see a lil barrel? Gotta roll hard and do what we do.

Here are some more pics of the progress. I'll have these bitches on this week for sure after I install my camber arms, roll the rears a lil bit and lower the car so its tucking about 1/2 tire all the way around. I don't think it will be hard at all.

Here's some more pics I snapped tonight....

F*** 35 series for the rear (at least with 20s), I dunno WTF I was smoking thinking I could get away with that. 255/35 left and 255/30 right.
