i got a $1000 gift certificate from work but it only works for pep boys as far as automotive stuff goes. i have volk gt-c 19" but the guy i bought the car from has done a number on the wheels...really messed them up. so i wanna get rid of them. so i was looking around and now id like to get some motegi touge which are 17 x 9 +24....for the front. i want to use the same size on the rear and run 275 size tires all the way around. what size spacers would i need for these to sit flush on the rear? would i need to use spacers up front? what series tire could i put on there? i only have swift springs which provide a minimum drop. thanks
i have seen a few guys with 17's and really like the look. it allows for a lot of tire sidewall. plus tires are cheaper which will translate into more track days. boneout jz80 had a set of 5 zigen 17's and it looked really good. i knew i would get slightly flamed for posting this but i was hoping to get a lil help with the spacers. i thought about selling the gift card but i need to get it done real fast. so im just gonna throw on these wheels which will transfer into some track only wheels once i get some sales at this new job. so ill abuse these for now and see how it goes. if anybody wants to chime in on suggestions for some spacers....then please do so. if you wanna flame, go for it, i love to laugh. no seriously, i love to see how creative you guys all are. and im not being sarcastic. some of the flame topics can be hilarious...and the volks, they could possibly be fixed, but like i said, i wanna get away from 19's. less $ on tires = more tracktime
18s ftmfw... I see what you're saying about the 17s for the track but I'd never rock that **** as dailies. Get them and sell them. Do you have any other wheel choices?
17x9 +27 front and rear. I use a 10 mm spacer in the rear just cause i have it for my street set up. Tires 255/40 front and 275/40 rear , but going to try 275/40 in the front next time. On the street i run the same wheels but in 18x9.
No spacers.
I run 275/40/17 Falken 615s all around.
Never have had any wheel rubbing. I rarely scrape the bottom of the front bumper and exhaust. It's happened though.
