I agree. I personally could care less about understeer as I live in florida and I'm almost never driving roads with any sort of curve, nor do I think I'm mario andretti on a road course. I'm more concerned with shredding my rear tires every time I hit the accelerator. Besides, there are other ways to counter understeer than changing the tire sizes.

I've been driving with 245/285 combo forever and my car handles nicely.

 

Actually it wont help at all with understeer, it just keeps it the same as it is from the factory. So you have a problem with the back stepping out hard, and the front end is fine. Its probably a driver problem with a side of stock width tires.

 

Um.... No, I have never had a problem with over or under steer till my tires got low on tread. Now the rear end slides around a lot, prolly cause i have like 2/32 tread mostly, and being that I have sways now that's going to stiffen up the ride. The front sways been on and I haver had a problem with under steer in the 2 times I have been to the dragon, till the low tread problem, therefor I know how to drive just fine. I'll be at the dragon this year if you don't believe me just try keep up.... I mean that in a friendly way. Mainly I want a tire that doesnt look thin in the front and thick in the back like my 245/40 and 275/40 looks like, not a fan of it.

And I may just end up with 265/35 and 285/35's so just maybe i'll test your theory..

 

So its actually the tires wearing thats caused your oversteer. Yes i know what you mean with the typical 245/275 combo, it almost looks like something a drag car would have. What you mentioned above will work great.

 

Basically, yes, and I did some math and found that a 24540 and 285/35 is about the same thickness which is why I wanted some pics, still not sure what i'll end up with quite yet, someone is interested in buying my wheels so I may get a wider set of 18's and go with something wider all around. Ahhh decisions decisions
