Default Wheel help

I've bee shopping around for wheels for a while and I want to go with the same width tire all around. I think I've narrowed it down to the Enkei RPF1 in 18x9.5 +15 or the Gram lights 57 optimise in 18x9.5 +22. I prefer the look of the Gram lights but the Enkei is cheaper and more importantly lighter. So my question is can I mount a 275/35 front and 275/40 (or perhaps 275/35) rear tire (probably michelin ps2's) on the Enkeis (which are 18x9.5 +15)without any rubbing issues (or rolling the fenders) on a stock suspension 350z?

i think you should be safe. rubbing issues come into play when you go with a significantly wider tire orrr if got 19s on a drop. im assuming if you had a mad drop though and slapped 18s rubbing issues might arise. oh and if possible please drop the Z once u get rims with a subtle drop, the car looks wack with aftermarket 18s and stock ride height

Ok thanks.

The car is unlikely to get lowered anytime soon. It looks fantastic but I like having ground clearance to make it up driveways and what not.

Stock ride height with 18s and a 35 series tire will leave a grand canyon size gap. I am running 18s with 35 series tire and about a 1-1/2" to 1-3/4" drop on the back. I can still fit a finger in there with a little space to spare. As far as the wheel with a 275, you should be fine.

+15 rear with a 275/40 has a very slight rub. My friends car has that setup with those wheels. A very mild roll and your fine.

I've seen other cars with 275/35/18 all around. I think it looks alright up front but in back not so much. I'm not looking to fill up wheel gap with big wheels and tires, as long as it doesn't look worse than stock thats fine. I've heard Michelin's tend to have more sidewall height as well. Someone made a thread about that today.

Deciding on wheels is difficult.

I am running 275/35/18 all around, on 18 x 9.5 +22 all around. At stock height the front is pretty low but in the back there is a huge gap. I'm lowering my car this weekend to see what is optimal height, since i have a high driveway curb

So it sounds like 275/35 would fit without rubbing but whether or not its aesthetically pleasing is another issue and 275/40 will rub a little with a 18x9.5 +15? Will a 275/40 fit without rubbing on that the Gram lights which are 18x9.5 +22 ? What would be the ideal wheel size/spec for mounting a 275/35 front and a 275/40?

The wheels in front will be flush with the fender, so personally I think it looks real good. AT the rear, I have seen lowered pics on 18 x 9.5 +22 (a couple of guys on these forums) and they are maybe less than half an inch from being flush w/ the rear fenders.

You gotta think about that for a second. You're gonna be using a 35series tire. Stock is a 45 series tire. You are going to be left with more gap at stock height.

I'm sorry I worded that incorrectly what I was trying to say is that I don't want something thats worse than stock. I was speaking more in general terms. I wasn't saying that the 35 series would be stock fit. I do understand that 275/35 will leave a bigger gap in back which is not really something I want. I was a bit unclear.

You could do the Gram's in the rear with a 5 mill spacer for +17 and should be fine. I have +18 in the rear with no rub.
